The cracks have varied from one XL to the next. My first XL, which lasted the longest, was out of the initial release batch.
How long of a life span are most people getting out of there chassis? I got about 3 and half months out of my first chassis. Took about 3 weeks to a month to get a replacement. Using the replacement for about a month now and noticed today a hair line crack in the replacement. It's not effecting the performance yet but I only have about 2 weeks left on my warranty.

Where are you cracking? Mine cracked at the bottom. Scotch tape worked. I dropped it and had the juice well assembly slip up a couple centimeters. Gawd, I'm talking metric. Say about 1/4 inch. I tappeed it back down with a rubber coated wrench handle. Other wise, I think it''ll have to shatter into pieces before I'm willing to spend much time without it on a return.

This was my first one cracked where the 2 half's meet up and replacement has now cracked vertical across the same part if your looking at it the same way just above where you screw the bottle in. Hairline crack but I don't want to wait till it gets worse because I only have 2 weeks left on the warranty. Does the month it took to get a replacement count towards the six months? I know they're made of plastic but a month maybe month and a half on the new one is pretty bad. I hate to send this one back in I feel like I just got it.

IF AG likes it a lot, that's a definite good thing. I'll add my assessment as soon as i get mine going.
I ordered 1.5's so I can run them on my XL too.
If they're as good as the Aero, that's a plus. I'm hoping they're better but won't be disappointed if it's as GOOD... duh. :)

AG does like it a lot, as does the Kattttttt. No hype, just a dammm good atty! I'm rarely impressed with attys for the most part, btw.

Also, Fernand recommended Gorilla glue in place of super glue. I think he's on to something there...

I don't think I would use glue until the warranty is up. Just wanted to get a general idea on how long other people were getting out of there chassis's and to vent a little I do really like this but it's way to fragile for my liking

Does anyone know what exactly causes the cracking? I've had mine for almost/about 2 months and while it hasn't cracked I'm noticing that it's getting hard to remove the battery and I think it's due to the plastic flexing while I'm holding it to remove the battery, which it didn't do until recently.

I absolutely love my Vmod XL, and I even bought a REO Grand after that but I actually find myself using the Vmod XL more. I think I just trust it more falling over in my suit jacket pocket, etc. I realize that it would raise the cost of course, but I'd love to see a Vmod XL with an aluminum frame/chassis instead of plastic!

I honestly believe their stress cracks caused by the cone compressing it. With the lip on the bottom it causes pressure when the cone is tightened, and there is no outlet except where the two halves are joined together:2c:

I went bottom feeder less for a weekend and ended up buying a Grand. Sold it after a week and bought another VMod.

Agree that I would buy an Ali VMod too.

Thanks, good to know! I'll definitely keep an eye on how much I tighten the cone from now on!
