Nice. Maybe we can compare notes. Sounds like we have the same stuff. Be sure to treat your XL innards to a nice hot bath before surgery. And don't forget the bottle top seal. ;-)

woot woot, got mine today, I now have enough cooper adhesive to mod about fifty Vmod XL's for the kick. So I will be open to sending some out is anyone needs some too. But first....tomorrow I perform surgery on the XL.

Yes indeed, the Vmod is getting a thorough washing, inside and out, tonight so it will be nice and dry by morning. I'll look forward to comparing notes. I can't wait to play with the performance change and work on fine tuning. I have a brand new 2.0 ShiFu atty ready to go; I just have to decide which juice to use for the first run. This will be a whole new phase in enjoying my favorite mod...I hope I don't screw it up :)

Hi all in VMODia... does everyone know that Vapage is having a sale?

The U-turn is available! And there's a discount code!

http://www.vapage.com/Vapage_U_Turn_1300_650_Variable_Voltage_Battery_p/vpa-103-104.htm

Code 2L2Q you get it for less!

The U-turn is the original ... and it was Shifu that did the sweet, easy to read numbers, knurled dial to make it nice to turn.

I have one in my arsenal and it works, and works VERY well!

Happy Vaping~

Very nice Tat.... If I would've logged in last night I would have answered that for you.... It stumped me at first when I looked at it, then I really noticed the M in the middle and it just hit me that i've seen that somewhere.... Of course, it was on That Metal Show....

Kat, I picked up a U-turn last night with the 40% off coupon from facebook. I realized last night I don't have any kind of back-up with me at the moment and that would be perfect for the time being....

Ok, y'all, I finally got a chance to install the foil I received. Works a treat. I stuck 3 sheets together, trimmed approx 3/8" from the long side, 1/4" short side, created a slightly offset flap at the bottom which I carefully slid below the bottom ring of the battery ground spring. Fits perfect and my Kick is working perfectly. My XL loves me again. :) Next on the agenda is to devise a way to secure the kick a bit better while inserted so it isn't so fiddly when changing the 18490.

D'oh!! Honestly, I didn't catch that when I saw the pic. Nice man. Going to try that. Any idea what the size of that o-ring is?

to be honest I don't know what size since I just picked it up from my stash of o-rings. just go to a local hardware shop and bring the VMOD XL (with Kick) with you.

Ya never mind. I found a few extra ChID cap o-rings. Works. :) Had to cut a slit in the copper foil config I have. I actually left the factory little foam thingies under the foil, so everything fits nice and snug. Sweet. Much much better than my beer can bottom ground ring I originally came up with. LOL

Ok. Some pics here. And before anyone asks what the bulge in the center rib is, it was an experiment to see how malleable the plastic is in an attempt to snug up the rib plastic to the bottle a bit so the threads don't get stressed. I bailed on that idea. That was the same day I made the beer can ground ring, if you catch my drift. LOL

Hmmm. Not sure why these came out as attachments, but oh well.

Congrats! I'm working on mine, and I'm really glad you gave a description of what you did. I find fiddly work like this a little tricky sometimes, and I need to ask...so you're using 3 pieces, and you're not using the sticky side, in other words you're not sticking the copper to the xl with the adhesive, correct? also, I see the thing you're talking about, with the kick sitting on top of the battery it's a bit wobblely, I saw in a pic that it sits in there better if you put the blue square under the edge of the mod-part to the right. I'm taking my time. I have a piece cut out to slide in, but I was going to use 1 piece and stick it to the body of the xl. Feedback Please...

I used the sticky back to adhere it to the chassis. Just made it a bit thicker with the 3 sheets. It's a little fiddly at the bottom by the spring, but you'll figure it out. I'm sure the bottom flap can be fit under the whole bottom spring assembly, but I just fit it under the last coil.
