This is the third one for me, and I had it glued into a frame to protect it and still don't know how I cracked it. Now you see why I need the Tibs,,,

I have also broken three....maybe four....I have got good at replacing them....but now I'm out of spare screens

I have to buy a few more DNAs, i wouldn't even try to solder a new screen on.
If we do the Tibs parts list co-op we can include the DNAs and get a small discount for quantities. It seems my plastic case is thicker than the frame for the scrren and when I pressed it in, the case lifted one end of the screen and it snapped where it was spot glued to the frame.. So it was all the fault of your frame, it should have been deeper.. I just knew it couldn't be my fault...

I have to buy a few more DNAs, i wouldn't even try to solder a new screen on.
Should have gotten some of the thicker screen bezels.
Haven't got the new ones I ordered. Did you get yours?
It worked fine for months without the frame, but since I had them, just figured I would use one.

No, not yet, but he had some thick ones, like for a wood mod, already on Shapeways. I bought two of them a long time ago just in case.

Actually soldering the screen isn't to bad....maybe I have been lucky.....I just tin the board and then make sure I get the first one lined up and soldered straight and then the rest are easy. I don't use helping hands or anything besides securing the board in a bobble head vise. I use the same tip as I use for 90% of the soldering I do, but it is a fairly small tip. Yes I'm lucky enough to still have good eye sight and fairly steady hands most of the time.

I'll be kinda upset if your Origin beats my second one coming express
I got the threads confirmed in the aqua thread, so as long as they are 1:1 clones 20mm x 0.5 is the ticket. BTW that is the same thread as the kayfun and Taifun GT tank threads
My Origin is still "lodging" somewhere in SG, I would think it is well rested by now....
Do you have a pointer to that TFGT thread, I looked around but didnt trip over it.....

Grabbed 4 SS and 2 brass. I figure I wont need the telescopic pin on the very bottom, just solder the wire into the hole that it will vacate.
Whatever the threads are, that can be worked out, heck if all else fails JBWeld will work. I am excited, finding a decent 510 has been a sore spot with me since I first started considering doing this.
Also saw these on another forum offered by a guy billing himself as the "HCigar Outlet". You probably saw the link in that DNA thread you commented in earlier.
As Bap said, my cracked screen quit completely. Now I have the same as my DNA12 but with 20 watts... Is there a snap on ribbon connector to join two ribbons?
