I cut about 15mm off the length of it though.

Been thinking something like this using the FT battery holder will be easier. Flush mount pocket for one of the 510's with a nut, if air or ego is needed an adapter could be used.
Approximate dimensions are looking like 1.3" x 1.8" x 3.875"

Ok, but on the Tibs we only need the buttons to press the on board switches, not the complete switches. so we only have to solder 4 wires. I thinks Tibs volunteered to presolder all four wire to the dna for us. So nice of her.

If you wanted to at least solder one button we could do something like this fairly easy....which was you original idea....but these guys just made a pretty aluminum prototype
Buttons are cheap enough, I could probably add them to the dna co-op without going over on my $5k limit. They naturally go together so I doubt j0ker would have any issue with it.
You do the DNAs and buttons and Tibs does the Tibs kits.
And you send both to me in one box.. Does shapeways give a discount on volume?

I have no aversion to soldering, well except for that ribbon cable......

I think on that aluminum mod you also have to add the up down switches since the board is folded back over the screen and the board buttons are facing in...
