So what is the "best practice" for conditioning, or breaking in a battery, before taking its baseline resistance measurement?

I would say fully charged and let it sit for a while. When I first tested the LG's I got impatient and yanked them off the charger about 80% charged and they read higher and inconsistent. After putting them back on the charger and then letting them set for 30-60 minutes they read the same as the Sony's and a consistent reading.

Now I have a few cycles thru the LG's I need to go back and retest them, but I don't really expect to see a big change if any as they are already quite low.

Today's laugh:

A father put his 3-year-old daughter to bed, told her a story, and listened to her prayers that ended with, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grandma and good-bye Grandpa."

The father asked, 'Why did you say good-bye Grandpa?'

The little girl said, "I don't know daddy, it just seemed like the thing to do."

The next day grandpa died. The father thought it was a strange coincidence.

A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers that went like this, "God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and good-bye Grandma."

The next day the grandmother died.

"Holy crap" thought the father, "this kid is in contact with the other side."

Weeks later when the girl was going to bed, the dad heard her say, "God bless Mommy and good-bye Daddy."

He practically went into shock. He couldn't sleep all night and got up at the crack of dawn to go to his office. He was nervous as a cat all day, had lunch, and watched the clock. He figured if he could get by until midnight he would be okay. He felt safe in the office, so instead of going home at the end of the day he stayed there, drinking coffee, looking at his watch and jumping at every sound. Finally midnight arrived; he breathed a sigh of relief and went home.

When he got home his wife said, "I've never seen you work so late. What's the matter?"

He said, "I don't want to talk about it, I've just spent the worst day of my life."

She said, "You think you had a bad day, you'll never believe what happened to me. This morning my golf pro dropped dead in the middle of my lesson!"

ha, I'm not big on jokes but this one is good :)

I'm guessing vaping Zone gets their flavor concentrates from Europe, Russia, or China and re-brands them at a very high markup. They don't seem to be from any company stateside, AFAIK. Their equipment is very overpriced, I can only imagine how cheap those flavorings might be at the source

Well I wish someone would find the source!!!.....because this is kind of ridiculous

Does anyone know the best way to make a carbon fiber box?

in a nutshell, make the form to be used as a mold, or make a mold of the form itself depending on how you design it, and then use a vacuum table to lay it up.

for long detailed versions google "vacuum form carbon fiber layup" or something similar...

I was hoping I could just wrap it around a piece of metal of the size I want. Then when it cured, just slide it off. It's never that simple. :D

Thanks for your help.

well yeah you could, but it won't really take the form nearly as well and will have air bubbles and just won't lay out and cure exactly like the form and is much more crude, but not impossible with some trial and error to perfect your technique. I'm thinking the reason you want carbon fiber in the first place is for it's look. for it to look good then revert back to what I said at first :)

What material should I make the mold out of?

depends if it's a one shot deal or you want to use it to cast more than one. depends on other things too,too much to get into here but truth is almost anything can work depending, from plaster of paris to modeling clay to wood to even a cardboard box really, even wax. if you are looking to make a negative mold or a mold of your form then silicone is another thing to consider.

if you are seriously considering it then research research and research. learn about release agents and resins and everything else so you have a better chance at success... fiberglass is easier because the cosmetics come much less into play because you can grind it, fill it and paint it, but to do a nice job with visible carbon fiber weave right there in your surface finish is a whole different animal and where vacuum layup becomes much more required for best results

on the low end you could do it all out of fiberglass, then sand and fill it to perfect, then just do one outer layer of carbon fiber on top for the look, still tricky at best but might be the best approach if your not looking to get too crazy

Remembering my days when I got my AP mechanic training and license, (requirement for the mechanical aeronautical engineer degree), we used a lot of solid rivets on airframe repairs. Me thinks they would make good push buttons for the on board dna switches. Now where to find them in small quantities? They usually come in 100 or 1000 boxes.:) Only want 10 each of several sizes. Should of put them on Tibs co op.:D

Hey Bap! Can you measure a battery's internal resistance with a standard digital multimeter? I apologize if you have covered this and I missed it.
