Last week I placed my first order with wizard labs. Shipping was so fast that I actually received the order before I got the shipping notification! Granted I an in south Florida but still...I was very impressed!

Then I opened the package and I have to say I don't think I have every received such a well packed box. Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and then double bagged! I have to say they definitely take the time and care to make sure everything arrives safe and sound!

Did you add an acid such as vinegar or lemon juice? When nicotine is in its salt form its not as readily absorbed as it is in the freebase form.
Thats why the cigarette companies add a base.

This is a little confusing to me. Though I have seen this practice being used, I do not fully understand the rationale behind it. Also, vinegar and lemon juice are acids? Is that why you're asking me if I added them, because I would need to then add a base to counter act those ingredients?

and its like that always.. i sent you a friend request sense we are in the same city... lol i dont know i just dont know any vapers besides sgenn and the local vendors, anyways sense we are in Miami FL. and they are in Coral Springs, we get it the next day!!! thats awesome!! the sorting facility that they use is in Opalocka so we get it quick. And if you get too inpatient you can always take the drive up there and see John (the WIZ ) in person, hes an interesting person.. i learn alot from him.

LEVITAS,

the lemon juice is a citric acid, it makes the fruity flavors "pop" and also helps preserve your juice.. ( but we are talking one drop) i put too much in a grape juice i was mixing and it turned out to be grape lemonade ... i dont know anything about the vinegar. The blueberry you have is my favorite blueberry... its awesome with some cheesecake. (loranns )

Just a Quick Question:

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the regular nicotine from Wizard ... and the "ice" nicotine?

Is there a nic that has no "peppery" taste to it? One cleaner tasting than the other?

Just wondering ... I know the regular nic from Wizard is great stuff.

Thanks!

Beyond the standard extraction of all organic nicotine, the Ice has further refinements to reduce trace elements other than nicotine (other alkaloids). While the standard nic is nearly flavorless, I can detect it unflavored at 18mg or higher. With the Ice, I can barely taste anything until you get to about 24mg and then it's still a challenge. Its definitely smoother/less peppery to me - there's a nic comparison thread by Cyrus Vap I'd suggest checking out - it goes into a lot of the taste/TH/etc comparisons.

I like to mix most of my flavors with Ice, but I like the regular with tobacco flavors because I like the stronger hit with those.

ETA: Here's that comparison. Note that CV differentiates between TH and pepper. There's an explanation of the initials used prior, but WLR is regular Wizard nic and WLI is the Ice. Nic Comparisons

It was a sample thrown in, but, TFA Blueberry extra. It's really good. ...

Yay! I got this as a suprise in my package, now I'll know where to start with it.

Can't wait for the weekend when I have time to start mixing up stuff to try. I have a feeling I'm going to feel silly all dressed up with gloves / respirator / goggles for the 10 minutes it will take to parcel up the 10% nic into some diluted base and get the rest into glass for storage.

Just do it when no one's home - you won't have to appear silly to anyone, nor will you have to worry about their safety or them bumping into anything :)

Hrmm, running some numbers and the EM & Menthol general mix formulas seem a bit on the strong side.

So 10% nic base = 100mg/ml; 100% nic = 1g/ml; and the actual density of pure nicotine is 1.010 g/ml; that's reasonable.

For Menthol, WL recommends 1g Menthol in 10ml PG for a 10% solution; which is .1g/ml = 100mg/ml = 10%; that's reasonable.

Menthol Crystals have a density of .89g/cm^3; 1cm^3 = 1ml; so that makes Menthol 1g/1.1ml, and a 10% solution would be 1.1ml Menthol + PG to make 10ml total. But the common recipe seems to be "fill bottle halfway (or even more) with Menthol, rest of the way with PG" which give us a (.5*.89 = .45g/ml) 45% solution or even stronger. Now menthol is tricky and 'to taste' but that's pretty concentrated. WL says that 50% is the max possible for Menthol in PG, so it seems that "half-n-half" recipe is for Super Menthol.

Then there's the Ethyl Maltol recipe: 1/4 tsp / 10ml. 1/4tsp = 1.23ml; EM density is 1.261g/cm^3; 1.23*1.261 = 1.55g. Use that 1/4tsp (1.55g) | PG to make 10ml total and you get a 15.5% EM solution. Thats 50% stronger than the usual 10% solution. So if a recipe calls for 4 drops of EM and they mean the 10%-pre-made-solution and I'm using the 15%-common-recipe-solution; then my 4 drops is more like 6 of their drops and the juice turns out too sweet.

This only irks me because EM and Menthol are single molecular component with crystaline form and a specific density that could be put into a specific percentage solution instead of being a solution of varying strength depending on whether you bought it pre-made, or just threw it together yourself. Like .8ml EM crystals + PG to 10ml = 10% EM solution; 1.1ml Menthol crystals + PG to 10ml = 10% Menthol solution (well 9.8%, 1.125ml would be 10% if you're picky.)

Anyway, seems to be something to keep in mind when a recipe calls for some specific amount of EM or Menthol. It's almost as bad as the different volumes of 'drops', but that's a rant for another day.

I'm so excited my supplies arrived from WL yesterday. Unfortunately I had a really long day and didn't get home till after 10 last night so I didn't get to start playing yet. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to play around with it a bit!!

I was very impressed with the packaging of everything. Very well done, and he also threw in a sample bottle of blueberry and a couple pipettes!! I am amazed that it was sent Saturday and arrived here in Nebraska on Monday!!

Just a head up************************

Wizard Labs has an announcement on their site about the delay in packaging..

Looks like everything is back up to speed now! John asked me to post this.. and to let you guys know, they are working with Friday Saturday and Sunday's orders and they will be working long and hard to catch up due to STAMPS.com having crashed.

John apologizes for the delays and thanks you all for your orders...

Sitting down, facing forward.
I tried WL based on the experiences of a friend. I have not been disappointed at all. Fast shipping, excellent packaging and, most important, great flavors. I though I had one "go to flavor", now that I've been exploring WL tobaccos, I like them all and no longer have just one, I've got at least four now!
