The for sure I'd be having a coughing attack. Even at 14w. Heckfire and darnnation 50/50 juice out of nautilus and 12w makes me cough. I still tend to a couple Nautties and hate having to test fire them.

Those long slow drags are why I hated vaping at first. After almost 40 years of putting something to my lips for a second and taking a mighty blast was just part of my day. Putting something to my mouth and gently pulling for 10 seconds(timeout) just to get a tiny puff just wasn't working for me. And I missed the massive cloud of smoke that came out my month and nose, and ears and prolly between my toes.

It wasn't until I got something that hit me on a 1-2 second blast and gave me back that huge exhale I knew smoking was behind me. I laugh my dupa off why I hear people say people are showing off with big cloudz just for other people. I do my biggest cloudz alone. I just love them. I'm doing it now with my Mutation.

I tested a Wotofo 510 resistance meter a few days ago (Before I changed the tester to 10kHz to measure some amplifier parts) and it was reading 0.02 ohms low. If yours has the same chip it could be as well. A few hundredths of an ohm is about right for seven non-soldered contact points. Actually it's really good.

Why I wish I had my DVOM here. FAA rules deems it be calibrated yearly and it so far has held up to FAA requirements so I know its spot on.

The thing is Boden, the tester is cheesy, I know that. The same with the mods ( I also checked it on an IPV4 and it read .06). BUT, its reading what it is suppose to be reading for that coil according to Steam. I can see a .21 induced error just in the threads of the base and the deck but as I said, it is reading as it is suppose to be reading. If the RBA had an .021 resistance itself, then my readings should be .02 higher than what they are, but they are not. As the pics show, it is where it is suppose to be. You can count the 7 wraps of the coil in the one pic. For a 7/6 wrap coil, .06 is the magic number.

Vaping 50/50 never bothered me. I did it a long time for the CE5's and the protanks didnt like anything much higher than that. I started going higher VG trying to stop leaks in Orchids and kayfun lites. Now I just do max VG because a) I like the clouds and b) its easier to skip a mixing step of adding PG to a recipe.
Also the whole time I smoked I always did MTL, so hitting higher PG didnt bother me with throat hit because i also did MTL with the CE5's and other tootle puffing gear. Same with the kayfuns. But the moment I hit the subtank mini it was on wide open airflow and I knew it was a lung hitter, and a very smooth one at that. I been doing nothing but lung hits since the end of May/begining of June and I cant imagine vaping any other way.

Talk about coincidence!, I just started Youtube on my Xbox and "recommended vids" =

(I never even searched nickel before!)

With no offence to anyone,
I do care what I put in my lungs, I did smoke for a while, but very little @ 3-10 a day and I am a reasonably young parent ;)

This youtuber says he owns a shop so I see no agenda here, however, he is not a metallurgist...
Anyway, as much as I love tech, I think I will skip TC till (if ever) it works with Kanthal,
But if any of you care to chime in, I am all ears!

Thx for the replies guys, just with what Dr. F reported on Kanthal "leaking", would be nice if tests were done with Nickel and Titanium also...
My earlier post doubled, and then apparently the wrong one got deleted. Do you have a link to a study by Dr. F on kanthal? I know he mentioned it in a radio interview, and then wrote a blog post saying he has no evidence to support a claim, but thinks that dry burning is an avoidable risk. I haven't kept up with it though. Did he actually do some tests to show that kanthal leeches into the e-liquid or that particles are emitted into the vapor?

The info put forth in that video has already been shown to be false, it's been kicking around this forum for awhile now. It's a bunch of uneducated wild speculations.
But if you are truly concerned about Ni, you could always use Ti or SS wire to TC with
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

I would recommend Stainless Steel over Nickel or Titanium.

Regarding that video... his understanding of metallurgy and chemistry is laughable. There are reasons to avoid nickel and it's oxides but he mentions none of them. One would be if you were sensitive to Nickel or have worked as a welder. The other reasons are a bit more complicated and would depend on the ingredients in the eliquid and possible overheating of parts of the coil.

It was actually on ECF that it was discussed, a few metallurgists on the forum popped up and disagreed,
But then Dr. F posted and replied that he did in fact have one in the lab with him conducting the tests and found that kanthal leeches in certain scenarios, due to dry burning I assume,
But as far as I know no tests have been done with Nickel or Titanium.

I had no idea I could use SS wire, that sounds good!, there was a squonker from ITA with TC that I really wanted, now I can justify the 300EUR! :p

I was on that thread for a while, mostly just watching/reading. When I stopped watching it Dr. F had replied and said that it was speculation based on talks he had with his metallurgist friend, but was another of his "avoidable risks." The consensus of the metallurgists who were participating in the thread remained that there was no break down occurring. Perhaps I should peek back in on the thread if there have been further developments.
