No, the Reo doesn't have a metal tube for the battery. And looking at mine I don't think it would work, the battery sits flush against a delrin block and the firing pin travels down to it.

ETA: If you did squeeze a kick into it it may compress the spring and you'd lose the short "protection".

Yeah the rule is that with a tube for an 18650, you use Kick+18500. But if it doesn't have the metal tube around the battery, then a Kick is useless.

Oh well. I'm very happy with my Achilles; with 2.5ml, it's not that I need to "drip" very often. It's more like "refill" every few hours, 4-5 hrs, something like that.

But haven't you ever considered to try without a kick?
I do see why you would want to use one though.

And i kinda feel like you, i don't drip realy often. But still using my mechs.
And i've to agree on the refill every x hours part.

I use a Kick, if I use a mech, because i want every hit to be the same; don't want to start off with a lung-frying blast, and then have it gradually get less and less... had that sort of behavior when I used an eRoll, and as soon as I graduated from that (to a vv3), I knew I was never going back. But I really don't use the mechs; I have them as insurance against Vapocalypse. Until then, I'm much happier with regulated mods.

The postive post is held by a screw. If I tighten the screw enough to hold the block its to far in to make contact.

I have found pics stating there is another screw inside the deck under the 510 screw. Mine does not have this second screw or a place for it to be.

i have about 40 Reos...

the metal Reos work with a kick, but you have to use an 18490 battery, instead of an 18650.

if the Reo is anodized or powder-coated, you will need to sand the inside of the Reo to make sure the kick gets good contact.

you may also need to devise a way to make sure the kick stays in contact. some people, for example, have made things by cutting up pink erasers... some people have used the kick2 successfully in Reos without any tricks, but i haven't tried that yet.

Would you happen to have a thread that has pics of it being done? Have a cReo on the way and was wanting to use a kick in it, and pics of it being done would be helpful. Thanks

I use a Kick, if I use a mech, because i want every hit to be the same; don't want to start off with a lung-frying blast, and then have it gradually get less and less... had that sort of behavior when I used an eRoll, and as soon as I graduated from that (to a vv3), I knew I was never going back. But I really don't use the mechs; I have them as insurance against Vapocalypse. Until then, I'm much happier with regulated mods.

yep the little thing on the side has to be grounded for the kick to work.

Both of mine, a Fallen Angel and a Galileo, I used a little when I first got them, to get familiar with their use and care, but once the novelty wore off, I went back to my regulated mods -- because although the Kick lets me regulate the vape, I still prefer having a screen to give me info -- battery charge, ohms, etc. But when Hoosier vapes had a big sale, I got 3 more Kicks to sock away in the drawer, for "just in case," along with the mechs.

You can do like what Bronze did in the KFL thread to extend the pin.

Started with dental floss and it actually worked fine. But I thought it was a little cheesy so I took Trolldragon's idea up and made a little washer from a lid from Hillshire Farms honey ham lunch meat container (which added about .012"...perfect). Drilled a 1/8" hole in it, slipped it over the center pin then cut/nipped around it with scissors and nail clippers. presto. Working fine.

My first coil build ever, subtank mini RBA V2. Using tools at hand, small jewelers screwdriver (2.5 to 3 mm), small dykes, hands. I have Kanthal of various sizes on order, but all I had on hand was a piece of 26 AWG they gave me at my local Madvapes, and some Japanese Cotton I bought there as well (more of that on order as well). I wanted to build out to 1.2 or so ohms for my tootle puffing taste, but no way I could do that with this gauge and have it over the air hole, so I settled for 7 wraps, and spaced it manually after wrapping, then position the height of the coil similar to the 0.5 ohm pre-built coil that was in there (which I had no desire to use). Ended up with 0.9 ohms on my istick30W, which usual is a little high, probably somewhere over 0.8 ohms. Dry fired it, looked good.
I use 70pg/30 vg NET, used 12 mg nic for this one, pretty thin so I wanted a fair amount of cotton to minimize the potential for leaks out of the air holes (which happened with the stock 1.2 ohm VOCC on my second day of use). I pulled the cotton up the can and cut about 1/4 inch above it, then stuffed it back down, looks good. Put a little juice on the coil/wick area, and a little on the side holes, but didn't saturate the cotton because of science. Put it back together, filled the tank, put the coil in, let it set and took a few unfired hits now and then to thoroughly soak the cotton (and establish vacuum at the same time, hence why I didn't saturate it outside the tank). Fired it up at 12 W being the tootle puffer that I am and my was it good, lol. Warm, so took it to 10W... still good rich vapor, great flavor not cloud chucking. Have it laying on its side to see if it leaks like it did with my VOCCs (after the cotton became over-saturated). Flavor wise, first try is a big ugly coiled success

Not a bad coil build at all. With 28 ga wire you should be able to achieve the ohms your looking for.
