Well, I think this Fishbone Plus needs a new home. Any suggestions? The new home must contain at least one person with stronger hands than mine. I just broke the glass trying to get the blasted thing apart. I had to take it up to 65 watts  on the Target to get a response from it, but I had some 3mg juice in it and it was WAY too harsh. So I figured it needed some zero nic. I let it cool off a bit, then tried to wriggle the glass off, but maybe it was still too warm because it cracked. I still have the spare glass for it if there's another person who's better at working these things than I am. I think there's just too much frustration in it for my bad hands to handle. If there are any suggestions, please PM me. :)

I'll try the little Stumpy for my rda. At least there's no glass on that, and I can get it apart.

Don't give up on it so fast. Take the Claptons out of it and put in (2) 1.0ohm coils for your .5 build that you like. Maybe if you lube the o-rings with e-juice it will be easier to take off. Then if yo don't like it give it away.

I had the same thing with my Boreas. Clapton build was too harsh for my liking so went with a regular old plain jane 24ga Kanthal build and it is perfect. In some builds Clapton is the greatest, while in others its not.

Also you need power for them coils. The one that has dual 3mm ID 24ga 7 wrap coils ohms out at .31 and I find the perfect vape for a 3 second lung hit to be at 60 watts. The other one has the same but 10 wraps each coil and ohms out at .49 and the perfect vape setting for that one is 70 watts.
I dont know if your Fishbone can take a coil like that but I bet it would be an awesome vape if it could :)

I had everything the way I wanted it. I went with straight Supertanks and had all my gear set up so that was all I would use and then all the Roxy stuff came to pass and I had to get one just to try. Now I am in love with the Boreas and spoiled by it. So the only purchases are for the vape ban that the FDA cursed us with. :(

But the Serpant mini is small and cute..... my shiney........ precious...........

One of my friends on another thread piffed this to me (as well as the Stumpy), so I could test my juices as I'm making them. I don't think he thought about my hands, just that the Fishbone had such rave reviews, and he's a nice guy (he wanted me to have something nice). He's the one that put the dual claptons in there before he sent it to me, and I figured I'd leave them so I could try out this whole clapton thing. ;) But although I could change the coil(s), I can't manage getting the glass off and on. I did remove one of the o-rings at the bottom, and I did lube it up with VG, and I still can't work it. It's just not the right RDA for an old lady with gimpy fingers.

STUMPY!!1!!1!

I Love my Stumpy! :w00t: :hubba:
ligacjGh.jpg

60W on that fused Clapton is a first class ticket to Flavor town!
She holds 35 drops too!

Yeah! That's what mine is, but brass. :) I put my coil in the center, too, because that's where it looked like it should go, then someone told me that was a bad place for it because it would spit at me, so I haven't used it yet. But I will now. :)

@Lannie, I'd rolled a couple of clapton coils for my Velocity when I first got my Clapton wire. Can't remember what mod, but I just couldn't drive the lil buggers (none of my mods goes over 75W - all single-battery devices.) I finally just pulled out one of the claptons, and I had a very delightful vape. I think I ran that coil around 30W (I've slept since then)

For the most part, I'm quite content with single-coil builds. Clapton or SS or Kanthal. It's just easier for *me*

I've toyed with grabbing a +100W mod, but it's not my typical style. I don't see too much of dual claptons in my future :)

I don't think I'm all that crazy about claptons, either. Maybe a single one, but I don't know, I like the vape I get from my plain old .5 ohm single (Kanthal) coils. They're easy, and they don't need megawatts to heat them up. ;) All my mods are single-18650 as well. When I was trying out the Fishbone on the Target yesterday at 65 watts, you could SEE the battery indicator dropping like a rock! LOL! (Not really, because I only had a few hits on it, but I could tell it was sucking the life from the battery! LOL!)

I had the same thing with my Boreas. Clapton build was too harsh for my liking so went with a regular old plain jane 24ga Kanthal build and it is perfect. In some builds Clapton is the greatest, while in others its not.

Well, we might have to let Kad tell us. I'll think on it a bit and see if there's something I could do to maybe help me get the glass on and off easier (maybe I need to remove TWO of the three o-rings), but if it remains "fiddly," it's going to go live somewhere else. I don't want to risk breaking the one remaining glass for it.

Oh, I almost forgot - the stupid iSub RBA leaked on me when the tank got less than half full. It was FINE for a couple hours, and then all of a sudden there was juice running all over. The tank was less than half full (maybe a third full by then), and that's all I can think of that could be causing the leaking. I guess there's not enough vacuum in the tank when it gets below a certain point. But having to top off the tank when it gets to 3/4 full or 1/2 full is a pain that I don't want to have to deal with, so now I'm back to not liking them again. Argh. I wish they didn't leak!

@Lannie, yup - I'm pretty happy with my plain ol' kanthal coils, too. I have a couple of spools of SS316L wire, which also make for some nice single coil builds.

I have a couple rolls of that, too, but I haven't tried it out yet. Soon! ;)

Thanks! I'll try the V-Mini on my next order and possibly a Low Pro too! I like the looks of that coil trapping setup.

Seems like EVERYTHING looks awesome on the Pico. :D

Just ordered one of these for my serpent mini, it looks so good, great compact setup for sure !

I "liked" that but I really DON'T like it!

Hey Mud, it's OK, I often go off ranting about stuff, went buying stuff to cheer myself up lol

Now my Lemo2 is leaking out the airflow slots. Usually, all I have to do after filling it is to blow through the drip tip (into a paper towel or something, 'cuz a LOT of juice blows out), wipe the base off and then I can put it on a mod and use it for the rest of the tank with no problem. But now it's leaking even after my filling-up routine. I have all these tanks here, and I can't use ANY of them without cleaning up a mess lately. I still have the Aromamizer, and as far as I know, THAT one doesn't leak, but I need to make a new coil for it. It has duals on it now that are really tiny and hard to wick, which is why I don't use it every day. I thought if I put a bigger, single coil on it, so it was easier to re-wick, I might use it more often.

Then there are the tanks Rich gave me, but they take pre-made coil heads, so I need to get an RBA deck for the one that's available. I don't know about the other one... it's a Herakles Plus and although everyone says that's a great tank, you have to buy coils for it, and I need to be self-sufficient. The other is an Aspire Atlantis, and I think I remember seeing a re-build deck for that one.

Istick Pico with a Serpent mini, problem solved, you seem to be using tanks with the rba's or rebuilding coils when personally I think your more suited to RTA's and you will have much less problems.
That above setup would be perfect for you, fantastic single coil rta that never leaks, great flavor, I can't comment on the mod yet but from what I have seen its great and should pair very nice with the Serpent.
I will post pics next week and give you my views, don't forget the Aromamizer Supreme, that is still my favourite dual rta, I keep meaning to send you a pm about it but things keep happening at home and then I forget.
Anyway Lannie, I think you need less flavors and get yourself a new setup haha. Hugs x

That Pico is too small. Plus I don't like the looks of that cap thing that goes on the battery. I have a hard time getting the cap on my Kanger Kbox when I change the battery. Remember, no thumbs... :( I'm sure it would be very easy for most people, though.

The Serpent looks nice, but it's only 3ml and it's $30. I haven't checked if Fasttech has it yet, maybe it would be less through them. Since it's a mini, I'm assuming there's a full sized one? I might be more interested in a larger tank, the way I go through juice. ;) These iSubs are supposedly 3.8ml (I think it's only 3.5) and that's about as small as I'd want to go. My Aromamizer is 6ml, and that's NICE.

I don't think you knew me when I first joined ECF, but if you could have heard me back then as opposed to now, you'd laugh yourself into a hernia. I was NEVER NO HOW NO WAY gonna use one of those "two way radio" mods, that was absolutely ridiculous! My little EVODs were perfect and that was all I'd ever need. And now all I have are "two way radios." And back then, I was NEVER NO HOW NO WAY EVER going to learn how to build coils because that was TOO HARD! ROFL! And now look at me, shopping exclusively for RTAs. It's actually pretty damn funny!:lol::lol: Oh, and when I used the EVODs with the 1.6ml tanks (which would last me all day and part of the next, by the way), I figured juice would be so cheap because a 30ml bottle would last me about a month. How times change... ;)

I can't help it if I have big hands and bad thumbs. Waaaaahhhhhhh!

The reason I'm on a Fasttech budget is I want to get A FEW extra tanks, you know? If I can pick some up for cheap, I can get more. Like this one. It's a Griffin clone. What about something like this? It's basically the same size as the iSubs (the tank capacity), but it looks easy enough to work on.

$11.35 Griffin Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3.5ml / 304 stainless steel + glass / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I've heard lots of people saying good things about Griffins. The clone SHOULD be similar, shouldn't it?
