What Rixy said. That's the part of dual coils which bothers me. If they're not balanced (and yes, I do know how to count to 10) you'll have an unstable build. Rebuilding makes the most sense, but if you want to play, take out the "good" coil and see how the "bad" coil behaves.

pinch them while they glow with tweezers,
don't do this with metal tweezers though...........only ceramic tipped ones.

Or they may be over tightened and the screw has cut into the wire, it does happen, sometimes I can't figure it out, my best advice, start again with fresh wire.
I think this is what it was last time that happened. Is this the same tank? What are you measuring the ohms on?

Shoot, I didn't realize Rich had asked this here and I just asked again over on the lounge thread. Everything Rixy said to check is correct, but it could be the screws were tightened down too hard. I'll try again and try not tightening them as much. They both have the same number of wraps, I did strum them (but didn't pinch them), their positions are correct as relates to each other, and nothing is touching. So maybe the wire is cut. Argh. What a finicky thing this is. I did everything the same as I do on all my other tanks, but on this one, it doesn't work.

Yeah, same tank (Goblin mini), but last time it was because the screws wouldn't tighten and STAY tight. They kept backing off with the least little bit of movement, like putting the chimney piece back on, or screwing it onto the mod. I got replacement decks and the screws stay tight now, but maybe I OVER tightened them because of my previous experience of them wobbling back out. I was checking the ohms on one of my Disrupters (just because it was handy and didn't have a tank on it already ;)), and on the ohms tester thingie that's in my coiling kit. No two readings were ever the same, though.

Those are the most nasty, hateful, antiquated screw posts in the history of vaping, serious wire cutters. Unless you are using 24g then it isn't an issue...

I am going to pick up the new Goblin Mini V3 with it's Velocity Deck and extension tank. :w00t:

Fire that other one in a box and forget about it. ;)

I wish I could find a US vendor for the Goblin 3. I'd like to try it in this century.

Actually, FT has been really good of late so I could just go that way. Only thing is I couldn't find the extension kit to 4 ml on FT. Has anyone else had luck on finding that kit?

I have some 24g wire. I'll try that in the Goblin mini tanks. I don't want to throw them away, first, because Rich spent good money for them, second, because everyone said they were great tanks for flavor (and I like flavor), and third, because I pitched a fit to FT and they sent replacement decks cuz the first ones were screwed up.

The only problem with 24g wire in there is there's not a whole lot of room, so it'll have to be little coils. I used 26g Kanthal yesterday.

If everything I try fails, then maybe I'll think about tossing them, but not until after I whack Rixy upside the haid with ma fryin' pan! ;)

I feel sorry for Rixy - seems to take a lot of punishment across the board and two fryin pan wielders - ... duck... o_O:w00t:

Before tossing them consider sending them to me. I'll get the little buggers working and send them back.

Oh, I think there are more than two of us with frying pans. ;) But he's the one that talked me into getting these. To be fair, he told me to get authentics, and I got clones, but it was his idea! :p
I pointed you towards an authentic as well... ;)
The Womper Woom, Womp it again Sam.

I think I commented on janky clone posts/screws but can't find that one now... :D

If you are going to get a V3, do yourself a favor and pick up an authentic. They are not really that much more, unlike SvoёMesto, GSV or Flash e-Vapor's authentics.

You would? But why would you want to fiddle around with a couple of $9 tanks? If you'd do that, I'd send them to you, though. I'll see if different gauge wire will help, or just not screwing the screws down as hard, but before I launch them at the far wall, I'll ask you again if you still want to mess with them. :)

Yeah, you did, but I think I'd already placed the order by then. I don't remember. And it wasn't even price, because the authentics were only a buck or two more. It was one of my Stoopid Things, I guess. I do Stoopid Things every once in a while.

I can't order any more, so either I get these working (or Boden does), or I do without the Goblins. I have the Serpents, and those are great tanks, and I have the Limitless and the Boreas, plus there's the Lemo2 and the Aromamizer, and the three iSub tanks, so it's not like I don't have tanks, but my vaping style is changing. I'm starting to prefer the tanks with long wicks, as opposed to the iSub coils (which have been my daily drivers for the last year). I never run out of juice in the middle of a vape with a longer wick, and I hate the taste of slightly toasted rayon. I think I need to use less wick in the iSub coils, because I'm "overdriving" them, if you know what I mean. The wicks need to be looser so they'll stay juicy. I think. ;)
