Welcome!
A fellow Canadian Womper too! ;)

:D Maybe I'll park my backside here for a while

I see you guys are talking about 2 battery mods... I just got my first about 2 months ago... loving the long battery life, never even considered running it over 20W yet... maybe sometime when I'm feeling adventurous I'll try it at 25W :w00t:

Eh, if you want really good run time it's a 3 battery market for you. Which is no longer the leader in wasted electrical energy now that 4 battery mods are increasingly common. Besides, when you mod has enough energy to vape AND charge your phone, you start wondering if it's all gotten little on the high side.;)

Hey..... this is me too! I don't know why I've never checked this thread before... I'm not a Tootler and not a Cloud Chaser.
I DTL and sub-ohm and don't usually run over 25W (and even that's high for me).

I didn't know there was a "name" for this type of vaping. :?:

That's a bit better. I make it just under the cutoff. :D
I think I might not even go that high except on preheat as most of my vaping is in TC.

Welcome fellow womper! :thumb:

yepper, it's the wild west out there in Vape-Land - and as always, the more the merrier :p:pervy::D

guess I am a "tweener" - just a tootler with a little more ummph! which takes me into womper area...
16, 17, 18 watts is about my roof or 'top end' -- I am thinkin I average around 13-15w ; hard pull lunger

LONG battery life sure is cool // been getting used to the 4200-4500 mah 26650, never cared for the DUAL deal set up
but then I bought a iStick TC100w and really love it - 6000mah and comfy hand fit add a 7ml tank and it's party time...

I have not figured how to determine TEMP CONTROL power output YET! I know there are ways, but don't care enuff to bother
in TC // 25w, 300° off/on off/on off/on off/on off/on off/on off/on off/on -- then figure what it averages out to...

If you want to go all geek about it, you can install a custom firmware on the iStick from Arctic Fox that will give you capabilities similar to eScribe software for DNA boards and let you plot power/temp curves and all kinds of other fun stuff. It's something to do when you don't know what else to do after mixing up 12 recipes and recoiling all your tanks.:D

LOL, understand

but at this point I just don't care enuff

when I vape something at say, 12w - it tastes like this

then I can adj my TC so it tastes like this too... :rickroll:

that's about as geeky as I care to take it, for now... :D :D

I actually considered a 3 battery mod when I bought the 2 battery. 3 batteries + makes the mod too big (awkward) and heavy for my very tiny, arthritic hands to manage. ;)

Edit: Lets put it this way With the Alien 220 I cannot touch thumb tip to finger ends around the mod. That is how small my hands are.

Then forget that. I do have a few 3 battery mods and the pentagonal shape is pretty good to hold, but I do have larger hands.

hehehehehe Yep. When I bought the Alien I actually went to a local vape shop and picked up about every multiple battery mod in the shop to see if it was comfortable for me before making the selection. Did I pay a bit more for the Alien by getting it in the shop? Yes but not a whole lot more and the folks there are really great people. I like supporting local businesses when I can.

BTW if anyone else has problems with their hands the fire button on the Alien is a fantastic solution. Instead of pressing a tiny button almost the entire side is the button letting you use your whole hand to fire it. Makes it nearly painless for me.

I agree that's a big plus for the fire bar. I'm fortunate to not deal with any hand issues, but still find it a comfortable solution. I also think the Alien is just about the smallest 2 battery mod on the market, at least until Wismec's Predator just got released, but I don't know the dimensions to be sure on that.

The only reason I bought a 2 battery mod was for the "tip-over" factor

I'm constantly knocking my mods over and I figured this one would be a lot harder to do that due to it's triangular shape. It's a Pico Dual. And it is indeed is a lot harder to knock over. :p

LOL I have lined up on my desk 2 VTC minis, 2 KBox minis, A Kanger Squonkbox, A NEBox, and 3 REOs. If I hit the line I create a domino like crapalanche! I know where you are coming from.

Is it bad that I was considering an 18650 power bank for camping to recharge one of my flashlights because it would dual as battery storage and charging for my reo?

They make one you can pull the batteries out of?? That would be an instant want. Pair that with one of those fordable solar panels, and you're good to stay out there forever!:)

years ago I bought a small light USB solar panel and a simple 18650 mod that charges a removable 18650 via USB. I did it in case of hurricanes given the possibility of weeks without power. Is it ideal? NO but it would keep me vaping in an emergency.

After a long day at work I'm chillin on the couch playing Farm Sim with three mods on my lap.

A RX200 with a Boreas at 80w.

A Hex Ohm with a Goon at whatever watts.

A Provari with a Merlin at 18w.

Kinda hard to pin me down on just what I like.

I like these style of chargers...
upload_2017-3-26_18-23-12.png
upload_2017-3-26_18-34-36.png
charge output of .5A ; 1.0A ; 2.0A

  • they charge two batteries at .5A or 1.0A (or single)
  • they charge about ANY battery made
  • can be used from the wall or from your car
  • then REMOVE the power IN cord, attach the USB OUT cord and it turns into a Power Bank by using a single battery in one bay (output)
come to realize I normally have many 18650 & 26650 (plus C cell & AA cells) sitting around and would be nice if I could use that stored power, as I please

I have a few of these (including a single bay/no screen) just for the same reason 'Myrany' sez; in case of hurricanes or any power outage... (add camping also)

My charger is an Enova Gyrfalcon All-88. It will handle as low as AAA up to D/10440 up to 32650. It will charge at .1, .25, .5 and 1 Amp. It will charge 1.5 V NiMH, 3.6 V LiFePo, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.35 V LiIon. Each bay is independent, so one bay can be charging a triple A while the next bay is charging an 18650.

I also have the Enova Gyrfalcon All-88 (same story, 4 bays), an Efest Luc S2, a Nitecore Intellicharger i4, and an Efest Luc V4.

Ah... many a time I've had the domino effect as well! Now I use a couple of heavy bottom candle holders for some of them and try to keep the others a few to the left and a few to the right. They still go flying but at least it's only one at a time
