maybe 2 months ago I bought one of these...
View attachment 644233

I needed a fast charger for "C" cells I use around the property and about that time I seen this was a new release
it is one bad dude, super fast charge @ 2A -- 3A is just a lot of whomping amps going on, so I don't use that one very much...

:smokie:
Too bad that is only 3A on one slot, those Hohm Gear 26650's will take 3A charging. :D

I really hate the atty that came with my dripbox. It spits juice in my face all the time. I had to hunt down a different bottom fed rda for it.
Totally horrible RDA, so many more available cheap (clones)
IAI V2
Hadaly
Odis Atty
Velocity Mini

I see that the Augvape Druid, GeekVape Peerless and Oumier Wasp have been added to the excellent FT Squonking thread. (Those are three more RDA's I'll have to get.) :w00t:

On the Kanger, I still have to run it higher than I'd like for a good (for me) vape. That said, I am about 80% TC on my vapes. The consistency and lack of concern over a dry hit make it a win, for me... oh, and almost ALL of my TC is now SS316L. I will no longer buy a mod that doesn't have SS and TCR/TFR...

I have a spool of 24g & 26g Nifethal 70 inbound from Kidney Puncher. Looking to see if it will be the replacement for all my SS316L.

I don't mind the RDA. There are much better on the market, but there are also much worse. Personally, I don't like the Velocity for squonking... I over squonk all the time. I have been enjoying the Wanko a lot more than I should, and the new Maze is awesome.

I read the Wanko was good once you got rid of the Fuse holder, but I understand it whistles. I can't stand any atty that whistles. The Maze V2 that came with the Inbox was alright, the Kennedy style airflow guarantees juice gets all over my mod. The worst for that is my Tsunami, excellent as a flavor RDA, but I can't squonk without taking extra care not to flood it.

I put my Maze (no inbox here... just the atty) on my Dripbox 2. I've only ove squonked maybe 3 times across 8 fills...

The Wanko can whistle, but a quick adjust to the air quiets it down. I actually did not mind the fuse clips... kinda cool, actually... and quite functional. But, yeah, I build, so out they came. It's also dirt cheap... I've seen 'em going under $20 most everywhere I look.

Never had the Tsunami 24 (squonk pin did not come with the 22)... I've been holding out for a Nalu instead...

Can our usual 18650s charge at 3A without getting too hot and decreasing lifespan? I mean it's great once in a while when you're in a rush, but 3A for every charge seems high, but I'm no charger expert.

I admit to being squonk-curious

What would you guys recommend for a set-up for a first time squonker?

I don't squonk. But when I do think about giving it a try I think I get the Pico squonker. It's unregulated but with a protection chip, and a really cheap intro to squonking. And now you've got the idea in my head again on a Monday morning with only 2 vape packages expected all week. ;)

I almost bought one of those then changed my mind because people were complaining about the Coral RDA. So maybe a Pico squonker with a different topper would be an option.

I know the Coppervape looks really nice, inexpensive, but then you need to get your own topper. I guess I looks at the Pico squonker as more of a test device of "will I even like the whole squonk lifestyle?". I'm sure if I do I'd get a different topper and probably a different squonker as well, but the low entry price of the Pico Squeeze means no kicking myself on something that ends up in the back of the drawer if it bombs (along with other stuff like that).

If you don't mind the wait, take a look on Fasttech at the Frankenskull clones. Although they're mechanical, and the bottle is stiff (so is the Kanger stuff, though), I really like it... If you want regulated the Dripbox 2 is the best starter IMO.

I have heard good things about this little RDA for squonking (it comes with a bottom flow pin). It is on my hitlist to pick one up. Hastur RDA 2S – CTHULHU MOD – Innovation and Affordable

IF you can find one a converted Derringer is REALLY nice on a squonker. But it can be very hard to find as the makers of it did not make a bottom fed version and you have to find one that has been converted.

I converted a Derringer clone myself with a 16th drill bit with a hand held drill . it had a copper pin, id suggest a copper pin, I bought a Goon to do the same but the pin wasn't thick enough to drill with a 16th bit and just ordered the new Goon v4 from FT with BF pin

yeah I have half a dozen Derringers sitting here ready for conversion. I gotta catch my brother in law when he is in town. Drills and I are not friends :)

I'd say no to that, Eskie. While you can probably get away with it, it will likely drastically shorten the service life. It's one thing to pull high amps from a high amp cell for a few seconds at a time, another thing to subject them to the higher heat from continuous charging. Imo. :)
