Geez! I order a new custom mod and all you folks wanna do is talk about RHPS.

Ok...

You have any idea how hard it is to find size 15 stilettos?

LOL, Never took you for a Franknfurter, thought maybe an Eddie or RifRaf. ;)

So what did you order? I do love a custom squonker but they are usually way out of my paygrade.

Starburst aniline dyed quilted maple 20700 squonker. This is the pic I sent when discussing the dye job...

Saw the basic details and intended finish, but not the modder...

Might announce the modder later, with said modder's permission.

Many years spent traveling back and forth from Toronto to Oshawa, I went with a girl there for a while. I used to like taking the Go Train to Pickering, then the bus through Ajax, Whitby and finally Oshawa.

Built my first PWM mod over the weekend, totally loving the vape from this. I should have made one long ago instead of throwing money at cheap Chi-nee mods.

Alpinetech GXL case, Varitube 30mm V2 smooth top 510, Big Al's iPWM and a Motley 3D printed 20700 sled. I ran out of epoxy and had to use some hot glue, I HATE hot glue...

The GXL case has a great hand feel because of the rounded corners. The iPWM board is full of features and it fires at 25kHz, which is totally silent compared to other PWM boards that buzz.

I'm looking to pick up some 21700's when they become readily available for that extra run time.

Sorry for the low quality pics. ;)

I can now appreciate this build much more, that is a great job you have done there, I want to covert one of my beloved Surric boxes so just been on Big Al's website and it's all making sense now.

Then I went and ordered a new Surric  couldn't resist it, if ever it stops working at least I know now that I can jump over to Al's and buy the stuff to fix it........and with those boards, improve on it too.

Very easy stuff if you have some PCB soldering skill and a basic understanding of electronics. The 14AWG 510 connections can be a PiTA due to the small work area.

I was just on Surric's FB page. It's chock full of people who's mod had failed, shipped it to them and haven't heard anything since... That seems to be a common trait with a lot of these custom mod makers. There was one over on VU (Mikhail) that did some real shoddy work and took people for a lot of money. I guess PayPal is finally sending out refunds to the people he ripped off.

Yeah been aware of that Facebook page for sometime but I can only go off my experience with them, they are beautiful boxes, well made inside and out and mine have never missed a beat but I'm aware if it goes wrong then I'm on my own, although I know the guy over in France so I can just send it back to him for repair or a refund but it would be fun to fix it myself with a completely different board, I'm kinda hoping my old one packs up hahaha.

I just cannot fault the Surric mods, I love them.

My new one will be here tomorrow
