What's to learn, it's just like baking, just follow the recipe and measure stuff accurately. Course you are always free to pretend you are a chef and cook up your own thing with "a little of this, a dash of that" but even chefs when creating their own concoctions often start with a defined "base" of some sort. DIY is the same.
