So now my 2 new tanks arrived, a Merlin and KF5 clone from FT (yay vape mail!). Finally figured out how all the little parts go together and they're sitting washed and drying up. Now the big decision. Do I wait until tomorrow when my SS is delivered to coil them up, or do I throw some Kanthal on just to give them quick ride around the block today and recoil tomorrow. I need my magic 8 ball to answer this one.

Clear wrap panels on, wow, ya can't see them, which is what I wanted lol...and well, there clear, at least it will protect it now. New glossy gold dotmod, geez, I should have shares in their company.

All finished, now I'll turn my attention to the black Boreas theme, hmm what nice black mod can I buy for this one, it will also have the gold AFC and tip. Maybe another Efusion duo in black, they are really nice, dunno, any suggestions.....it has to be a DNA 200 really..

For me Joytech and Evolv TC work exactly the same. Then again I don't vape on the limiter.
The VT133 never hits the limiter.
The PoS VTC Mini I had, lived on the limiter.
The Cuboid will touch on the limiter with the Genelocity, 0.18 ohm dual twisted 26g SS316L build running at 480F/80W. The juice just disappears in it for some reason...

The 510 on the WeeLeaf Pico is actually quite decent. The 510 on the Cuboid is pathetic, not anywhere near as bad as Dovpo junk, but close.
The VT133's 510 connector is amazing, one of the best I have used so far. I'd like to know where they get them from as I would replace all my devices with them.

Bolt on from the top with a domed center pin.

I've run 430SS in Ni mode, for 304SS Ti mode works well. The mod doesn't know what wire is in there.

Im gonna have to get some 304SS wire then to try out.

TCR is Temperature Coefficient Ratio or how much the resistance of a particular wire changes resistance in relation to the temperature of the wire.
There are TCR tables for different wire types on Steam Engine and various places on the net.
Once you get the value close you can fine tune it a bit if you want.
The fixed TI, NI, SS TC modes in mods have a TCR value programmed in for each of the wire types.
TCR is because one size does not fit all. Different types of SS wire with different TCR values and such as that.

I do not yet use TC but do pretty much understand how it works.

Good info to know. My RX200 was asking for TCR settings.
That's easy. TCR is just the resistance rise Cr over ~400C temp range. The larger the number the more the wire changes resistance.

The higher the number the easier it is for the mod to track the "temp".

Each mod uses a different input method but these are the "good enough" numbers to use.

Awesome, picture is saved for future reference.
For 304 in Ti mode 360F on the screen = ~430F at the coil.
Is there anywhere a chart is that states settings like this?

k5 is heads

Well, heads didn't turn out too well. Leaking like a sieve. Washing it up and checking all the o rings. Oh the joy.

The good news is, the Merlin is really nice. Dead simple to build, no leaks (well, no leaks after I remember to close the jfc when I want to quickly replace a little o ring I forgot on top) and really nice flavor on a simple Kanthal 1.2 ohm coil. And that's my excitement for the day. Too bad I ended up dumping 10 ml of juice all over the place, but all cleaned up and my mod was protected (lots of cleaning up of my 521 tab though).

Now I need a nap.

That looks beautiful. Can't tell you even put a clear wrap on there. It's too bad the Triade and the upcoming Therion won't work for you if black is a thing, because otherwise, the leather they come with is terrific. I'm sure they'll have extra replacement backs with other finishes out soon, but the Triade has been a winner for me, although not a black mod. I guess you can't go wrong with another Efusion though.

Watch out for that particular o ring, by the way. Comes loose easily. I've seen many people saying they have lost it down the drain.

On day two with the Kay5. No dry hits which for a Kayfun is a wonder. Its pretty restricted air though. Haven't really made up my mind. With a tootle puffer build it has just enough air. Open this thing up and I can see its a dry hitting beast. The driptip is pretty amazing. Gonna buy afew of these.

Best price on the Halcyon 200 is in NY which means 20 dollars tax for me.

Everywhere else is 20 dollars more.

Clearly for even money I would send the 20 bucks anywhere except Albany but I'd like to save the 20 bucks if possible. I'm in love with the Malstorm RBA but I need some horsepower under her.

I doubt it. Too many variables. What do you want to know? Specifics are good.

Would like to find some SS 304 wire that is comparable to 26ga and 24 ga. Any good places to buy from?

Then if I did a 24 ga SS 304 10 wrap 4 mm ID coil and vaped it on a Ti set up with wanting a 420 F vape, what should I set the mod's temp to. The same as your original post of 360 Ti setting equals 420F vape? Or does the coils size/wire size/number of wraps matter?

I'm not sure how to actually do it but my son builds coils on Steam Engine then imports it on to his DNA 200 and all the maths and crap are done.

I use SS wire but don't like it for TC. I'm a nickel guy for TC.

And with the help of a screwdriver, a hammer and some anger the Malstorm now fires on the Dripbox. Really liking this set up.
