I think I've been pretty open about my love affair with the Kayfun 5.

But since I built the Mini I haven't touched the full sized.

Seeing it sit there all alone I felt bad. So I picked it up. First thought was what a cow.

Second thought was where's the flavor??

The Mini is back in the saddle.

I'd rate my current tootle puffers from worst to best.

Kay5- its ok. Good performer. Low flavor. Easy to build. Extreme low airflow even wide open.

Merlin. Great tank. Decent flavor. Stupid easy to build. Better air the Kay5 but still extremely restricted.

Kay 5 Mini. Best. Still restricted airflow but slightly better then both the above. Easy to build. Flavor jumps out at you and it doesn't look ......ed.

I would pay good money for a authentic Mini but its clone only. Might get more when they return to FT.

Did you build the 25MM Super Tank RTA yet? I"ve been using it since Monday. It works well. Excellent airflow, nice build deck but smaller than the other 25mm. Flavor is excellent. I put dual SS316L Claptons 26ga/36ga reading at .37 ohms. You were right it is a very nice looking tank.

I also got the Cthulhu V3 on Monday. Another nice tank like the Boreas. It has 2 build decks. A velocity style for dual builds and a single coil deck. Tremendous air, good flavor and I like the look of this one too.
I put a 22ga SS316L coil reading a .27. I'll give you more after I use them for a bit to see if anything comes up.
Also neither tank leaks.

The Super Tank RTA is my wife's and she insists she's gonna do it herself but yet..................

I tore out all my SS builds the other day and they don't work for crap with TC. Put a nickel build in a Gemini 25, dual 28ga NI. 20 wraps each on a 3mm. Vapes like a champ on the DNA75. I mean its a REALLY good vape. Wicking was tricky because its soft and rewicking is unlikely but spinning up more coils is easy. Seems to be brutal on battery life which surprises me as its only a 45w preheat and 385 degrees. I am very unhappy with Basen 26650 batteries.

How do you like the finishing on the Cthulhu? Is the machining well done?

It's built very well. No machine oil on it. A quick rinse and that was it. The threads are nice and smooth. THe juice control and the airflow are a little tricky. Just turning the tank controls the juice flow. With the air flow the tank needs to be on the mod. If you turn it off the mod both the juice control and the airflow move. The bottom of the base is 24.5mm and it bumps out to 26mm the rest of the way.

The thing I like about both of these 2 is that the bells have a conical design so the flavor is better than the flat top bell. So far I'm liking it. It won't take the place of my Boreas but I haven't built a dual coil yet so I can't answer that yet. I bought it because I wanted a single build with good airflow. Time will tell I guess.

I just bought some Hohm Grown 26650 batteries which I believe Mooch said were Basen Rewraps. I just got them today and haven't used them yet.

I've been using the Efest green 26650s' (4200mAh?) and they're doing well in my VT75 and Presa 100. I've heard lots od good things about the Basen's, so surprised you're having an issue with them.

No "issues" just stupid short life.

One thing I blame on the chip but could be the battery is I get weak battery warnings sometimes even when fully charged. Don't know what it means but its not a big deal. Just a crap chip and crap batteries.

Sounded like this was with your DNA 75 chip, but it's a different mod acting up? I usually run ~30W 450F in TC on 316L, and I can get a solid day of use out of my 26650s on both mods. Maybe untrue. I think the Presa does run down faster, but it's not always in TC mode like the VT75 is.

Its the VT75 I hate. And I have most of the VT line. They really dropped the ball on this one.

I'm headed into Rome. I'm in a mod buying mood.

I must say the RX200 has been bullet proof. Could be one follows me home.

Custom Hand painted Darkside Hammond box mod 1590N1
DNA 250 board
2A USB Charging
Custom made by MaxAmps 3s3p 4500mah Lipo battery (biggest ever in a mod ? Probably !)
Mitec 16mm fire button
Smooth 30mm variable 510

It's hard to get nice pics as the finish is like a sheet of glass, it's had 5 coats of Klear extreme wet sparkle applied, it reflects everything, the sun hit it yesterday and nearly burnt my eye balls out haha..

You only realize just what a beast this is when you put it next to the HexOhm V3 with the Boreas on, then you get the OMG reaction :)

It's also the first mod that came with instructions on how to look after the paintwork, it says, use a car wax product, that made me chuckle.

What is surprising is it's actually pretty light for it's size, easy to hold, impossible to put in your pocket, lighter than the HoG...

The biggest most powerful DNA 250 box mod on the planet ? I'd say so........as the kids would say, man that's sick..borderline crazy but it is beautiful.

Pure Darkside vaping
