I am absolutely amazed by the number of vaper's out there, who believe that it is 100% safe to charge Li-Ion batteries overnight and unattended.

They reply with things like "the charger has protection, so it will shutoff when the batteries are full".

It's been on my mind but then I thought, well I enjoy vaping regardless whether I need nic or not so changed my post.

I always post how I feel at that exact moment but I change my mind so so much that most of the time nobody really should or probably those that know me, takes what I say with a pinch of salt, that was also the main reason I quit reviewing products and completely dropped out of the vape scene apart from a few posts of what I've bought.

Oh and my quad biking days are over.

Very dangerous but it does seem the norm, it trickle charges the batteries all night and it only takes a bad, old or damage cell to vent and well, we all know what happens next.

By the way, the Veterans Affairs folks are about the same as the common man's social medicine in England or Canada... they just set my MRI date for October 23 and the interview with the Neurosurgeon for October 30. Gawd only knows when they plan to do the actual surgery. SIGH.......

I have an Eleaf 40w temp control vape, I usually use a wall charger for it but have recently read that charging it through the computer is fairly damaging to the battery. Is this at all true? I would think the charge cord would regulate the amount of power being sent to the battery.

They certainly don't rush, I'm fortunate to be able to pay private, the NHS service here is shocking, no beds, beds in corridors, wrong meds given, waiting times but then the country is over populated now and that service was never meant to cope with this amount of foot traffic, not to mention the unpaid and over worked staff.

It won't damage the battery, the usb port on a computer has much less amp draw, something like 900ma and that's why it charges much slower. I'd say it's fine but using the wall charger is probably more practical.

Charging from powered USB ports is generally ok but the details are actually a bit convoluted and something of a mixed bag. I'd stick to the wall-wart (this regulates the power, the cable is just wire), personally.

I have a little Eleaf 30W mod with internal battery that has been charged via USB since day one, which is over two years now. According to spec, that battery should already be gone, but it is still working fine. I do, however, use a Nightcore Intellicharger for all my 18650s.

The intellicharger is a battery charger for 18650 batteries. 18 represents the diameter, 65 the length and 0 for round, in millimetres - don't worry, just remember the number, it's the most.common vape battery and you will definitely get told a lot to read up on them.

Far from fragile, we put those mods to the test one day at our shop, drop tests, throw them up a wall, total stupid things that nobody would do (or should do)

It did prove one thing, they can take a beating, none of them broke and they all came out looking a lot better than any zinc alloy mod. The only thing that happened was the battery door popped off, a few scuff marks but all of them worked still, great little mod for the price.

The number 1 mod I recommend as a starter mod going from a built in battery to dual 18650, solid solid mod.

As above, Smok are OK to a degree but there are better for your money.

First thing is battery safety, never charge from the USB when using 18650 batteries, please get yourself an external charger.

Second thing is ohms law, knowing your resistance and the amps that it's going to draw from those batteries.

With that said, if your a mouth to lung vaper, which I'd say you are considering your current mod, then you may want to look into a singe 18650 mod......but if you want more battery life then go dual.

The tank I am using is a Kanger Subtank Mini and you are right I am more mouth to lung. Being able to drag on it without coughing is usually what I like to go for.

I'm a single battery guy myself. I vape right on the edge of a full workday (including commutes) without having to swap cells. For that reason I prioritize size and weight. Almost literally anything out there will do what you want, so you'll have the luxury of getting precisely what you'd like.

Why not try a Pico? Small, easy to carry, single 18650 battery, and even with 20W use, you should get the day out of it. It's very popular and stands up well for regular use. Oh, and these days very affordable, probably under $30 for the mod alone (if you don't want the Melo in the kit). If you want some future proofing protection, there's now a Pico 25. Only difference is it's a little bigger, but will accept up to 25 mm tanks, which are becoming more and more popular.

I will look into Pico right now. Have never heard of the brand before, I dont mind the bigger batteries at all but some of the dual battery mods are pretty huge.
Would probably have to do research on mods.. The price is not a huge issue, would generally not want to go over $100 - $150 for the battery and mod together. Would like to keep using the kanger subtank if possible. Not sure if I may have seen this or was stoned and got it messed up but are there mods and tanks that are magnetic? Something like that would be pretty neat, would like to have a few tanks to be able to switch around as well.

There are, and it's pretty cool stuff, but the only one I'm familiar with is modeled to look like lipstick. You may be interested in pods? Lots of people seem to like the Penguin. I dunno, getting into deep ignorance territory for ol' Vic.
