I have a issue with the term E-cigarette. It is not a cigarette and I'm not e-mailing it I'm puffing on it...I'm too old to be hip, but vapeing seems to be what I'm doing. But ill admit it a vaporizer to me is some kind of science fiction ray gun....,or one of the water and Vicks vapor rub plug in the wall mist machines my mom put in my room when I had a cold as a child

Let me put it this way. I think it is the most obvious and logical term to use...

...but I'm going to feel like a dork telling somebody who's never heard of e-cigs that I'm "vaping."

I think the word vaping ,or in old english "To Vape" is Bad ... . I think telling people that your atomizing, or cartomizeing ,now that sounds Dorky. What about juicing ...Na to much like shooting roids ...What about tanking ...Na sounds like a couple of drunks... What about Vaping ...Dam skippy that is what we are....

I don't wan't this to be taken the wrong way (I'm a vaping vaper myself) but does anyone else here think the word "vape", or any variation thereof, sounds a little... corny or something?

It reminds me of TV dramas where teenagers are doing some new fictional street drug and they have some silly "hip" slag term for it.

I feel exactly the same way, but since I haven't come up with something better, I'll use it. It's better than something like e-smoking.

On the other hand, I absolutely refuse to refer to them as e-cigarettes or e-cigs unless they have the standard cigarette form-factor.

Yep, I agree. But soon I am sure it will feel as normal as saying that I am a smoker. I can't wait for that, or for vaping to be more of a normal thing where I live. So far everyone I talk to has never heard of it.
