So agree, "toot" is awful. I prefer the term "rip."
As for vape, vaper, vapist, I don't know what would be better to say. We could call it huffing, but that has an even worse stigma.

There is no other term i can think of,vaping is and will be the term and will be used forever,i think it sounds kinda cool.
I thought of inhaler for the device at some point but that made it sound medical/clinical. But that made me think of telling people it was my morphine inhaler when they asked me what it was. You could have fun with people while it's unknown. They'll figure it out eventually.
I've said it before but the term "vaping" always makes me think of gaping vagina... like "yeah man, I put on some Luther Vandross and she was vaping". But it's grown on me and I can't think of anything better so that's what I will say.
