It isn't really possible to 'burn' silica wicks. If you take a torch to them they'll glow red and come out white afterwards. What it could be is gunk on your coil as I think some others have said.

I don't know if you mentioned this but do you know the PG/VG ratio of your juice ? PG is very thin and VG is very thick. I found when I was using a vivi nova when I started vaping (it was pretty much my first delivery system) that the thicker juices didn't work so well. I sort of equated it to sucking a slurpee through a straw but not mixing it at all. So you get 3/4 done and what you're left with is thick and flavour less cause you've sucked out all the thin flavour. To me that's what that darker sludgy juice at the bottom of a vivi is, juice that's had all the thin tasty stuff sucked out of it. It's spent juice, it doesn't taste good and is discoloured. The same thing happens with genesis atties to the bottom bit of juice. For me , cause I like to vape higher VG juice, it was a deal breaker on the vivi nova and I didn't vape them for much more than 3 weeks before giving up on them.

You can change your method, however, the problems you encounter can be solved by getting the Vivi Nova Mini, and rebuilding your coils. I really enjoy mine because of these two reasons. Hope you find something you like better sir.

Also, if you are using VG juice, and have issues wicking, thin it up with some distilled water.

I've skimmed all the posts here, and no one seems to have mentioned that the clearo-tanks require you to frequently tip them sideways to keep the wicks wet, otherwise they will dry out as the juice level falls in the tank, leading to dry hits.

Any delivery device's juice will progressivly darken over time if it is not vaporized. This is normal.

There are a variety of juice delivery devices to try. They all work a little differently and everyone tends to prefer one over another.

I wrote a picture dictionary of the more common delivery devices on the market: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-primer-juice-delivery-attachments.html

Sorry to hi-jack your thread mediocre. I need help as well. Like you I have been using Vivi Novas 3.5ml. I want to give cartos a try. I have seen the Phiniac Pyrex tanks but I do not know which carto would be perfect for it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Phiniac has a special section on their website that shows exactly which carto works best with each size (length) tank they sell. http://phiniac.com/cmspage.php?page_id=33

Standard tank requires a standard length (35mm) carto like a Boge. The XL-v2 requires an XL length carto (45mm) such as a Boge XL or Smoktech.

vision spinner 1300mah but today am having problems with one of them not charging. Only got them in Feb. for Pete's sake

Careful not to overcharge the battery. When it blinks a million times and the light goes out during charging, take it off the charger. If you leave it on, it may be 'trickle charging' and I've read that this is no good for the battery's health. I've had 2 Spinners for months, and a friend of mine bought one AFTER seeing me use mine. His has died already, and he admittedly just leaves it on the charger 24/7 when hes not using it, resulting in over-charged batteries going bad.

Oh dear Oh dear oh dear. I don't know how to say this but..............................(gulp)..............I've just found out that the vision spinner has a 5click off/on function. The battery is fine, but i'm just going to go jump off the nearest motorway bridge and throw myself off it for being such a numpty:oops:

Can't say much about spinners. I have the C-Twist. I leave it plugged in my desktops USB port when I go to sleep ( approx. 6hrs ). I've had it since March 9 and haven't ( hopefully not ) any problems with it.

Lmao that happened to me too when I first got mine. No worries, glad it's still working :toast:

OK. so I've had some time to read and watch some of the links that have been posted. So thanks very much for all that contributed. I've come up with the following conclusions from the advice given.
I think the Vivi nova tank system is still the system for me. I like the fact that it is totally rebuildable which makes it cheaper to run. I also like the fact that i can fill-er-up and I'm good for the day. I can take a spare battery and tank with me should i require a new flavour or run out of power. My spinners from vision cut the mustard from my point of view and last 2 days of vaping with great performance and now that i know about the 5-click on/off feature i wont need to fling them out:oops:
I now know how to rebuild the coil/wicks and to properly clean the system, Which I'm really looking forward to trying. So thanks to Jsquared and horselady154 for that little nugget. It led me to a video of the same guy doing a coil rebuild for the Vivi nova which was most informative.
I've also learnt that the juice I've been vaping may not have the best ingredients and so am looking for a new cherry/cigar juice vendor from the u.k.(http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/206373-vapenstein-addo-scientia.html)
I like VG prone juices and normally vape 65/35 in their favour so the vape i like may not be ideally suited to the nova and maybe needs mixed with some distilled water.(thanks GetVaked for the tip)
I've also become aware of the technique I've been employing whilst vaping my nova. Sometimes, when vaping I'll try and suck the life out of my Vivi in order to get a throat hit/more nic and I'm sure that if i use the electronics rather than the power from my lungs and let the machine deliver the vape rather than trying to force it out of the the mouthpiece i get less darkening of the liquid. It's rather like dragging the guts out of a traditional cigarette. Now i just keep that button pressed and don't draw so hard on the mouthpiece and that seems to work for me (so far).
So in conclusion:
A combination of better juice, better vaping technique, and a more frequent clean-out should eliminate all the issues I've had with the Vivi nova.
This forum is a great source of information....
Keep up the good work....
One day when i have more experience i may be able to payback the forum by means of some experience based insights myself.
Till then..................................:D:D:D:D
