Hi all

this is a rather new thing that i've heard about recently (no, i do not live in the states or EU. asia) and this really caught my attention to quit. (tried many methods. patches, gums, inhaler. doesn't help, why? perhaps due to my psychological thinking that it doesn't even look like a cigarette)

My story basically begins as a social smoker who went heavy (1.5 packs a day for 7 years now)

so where do i begin? (need recommendations and etc), but i've heard of a few brands that would i guess suit my psychological needs, smokelessimage volt? vapor cigarettes (new zealand).

but it goes without saying that i'm a noob and have no idea on what are the components and etc. basic knowledge is the atomizer + batt + ejuice = smoke.

it is illegal to sell, import and etc. but so far from what i see in the law. there's no rule against personal usage and seen quite a handful vaping in public. (the tricky thing is how am i suppose to bring it in...)

edit:

anyway, it doesn't harm to know about these alternatives. perhaps when i do visit other countries i could buy a good one for my trip instead of smoking a carton that i bought from duty free

Welcome avria, I'm so happy you decided to join....It's a wonderful thing your doing for yourself. If your looking for some recommendations you'll get a ton here. I was 1-2 ppd smoker for 27 years, until Janurary that is :) and I'm a fan of the eGo or Riva models to begin with. the batteries will last 6+ hours and are more powerful than the standard cigarette look a likes. Good Luck

true. bigger batt = bigger capacity for stronger dose and hours.

but i don't think it matters much to me about the analogue look a likes dying out fast as i'm always near computers so i could easily charge them when i'm not vaping, also i do not want to get addicted to vaping. gonna do this as a quitting method to successfully quit on all of the addiction to nicotine. perhaps in the future i'll vape to 0mg ejuice.

thanks for the advice though, beans

WELCOME!!

And from one who's spent time in places where gear is hard to come by- consider a mod that uses a common battery type. Very little ecig hardware lasts forever- if you're in a place where it's hard to come by, get a 14500 or 18650 mod, as these batteries are often available in camera shops, etc.

Go as "low-tech" as you can. A good mod, handful of atties, and a bunch of juice, and you're good to go...

And enjoy it,
Ande

We all started thinking vaping is temporary. It will cure the addiction in no time. So vaping devices that look like real cigarettes are the only first and last options. But we always end up buying bigger and better ones. We've read the same story hundreds of times before. It's a 99% certainty that newbies who've had their mini e-cigs will come back asking for upgrade suggestions. Craving for a smoke is a lifelong battle for most, it would seem.

Anyways, welcome and good luck.

Well, I got my first E-Cig yesterday, and before I got it in the mail I had not smoked all day, and still have not, its now 2 days without a cig, and vaping is working, but relized I dislike the e-cig I got and am thinking about going to a tank instead of these cartriges. Love some of the flavors I got, but it seems like I have to suck hard on this thing, and then the cart gets hot on my lips. I got the Smoov my sister turned me on to this sense she and her husband both stopped smoking with there personal vaps.
Is there a better tank unit out there?

Thanks
Sharon

You have taken the first step. Give yourself a great big pat on the back! This forum is full of people just like you, I am one. My first exposure to e-cigs was to believe it was just a fad. Was I wrong!

Educate yourself and learn to use whatever gear you choose to go with. There will be plenty of suggestions all of them good. Just know that what works for one does not always work for another, find what works for you even if you end up struggling a little. We all did!

Doable, viable, solution to improving our health.

Enjoy life and welcome.

i do share your views and yes i've seen many use another addiction to get over the current one. but i'm determine to stop for good. just need a little help on the way there so what i've thought of was perhaps a 510 with enough cart to last 2 months and stop there. dispose of the 510 or something. but i do like ande's remarks where modding seem good keeps me occupied too.
