OK, so I'm up about four hours before I am supposed to be. Old Man Nap turned into eight hours good sleep. Musta needed it..

Still playing around with this new 'dual coil' thing. I've opened the VAF Ring to maybe 1/3 open. Much cooler vape with the additional air flow. And getting much more vapor, but seems like the flavor fades away slightly. Maybe a 'trade off', or maybe I'm just not used to it....
Also, my 30g Kanthal arrived today (while I was sleeping) so I think I'll start bring the Ohms down a bit.

EDIT Bossnorma's post about drip tips got the best of me. Got a 'Dynasty' from vapordna on order....

OK, Today I took the 'training wheels' off this bad boy. Wrapped two 0.8 coils (0.4 total) using 6/ 7 wraps of 30g Kanthal on a 3/32 drill bit. That's metered ohms. Both coils fire simultaneously and in unison. Stuffed coils with rayon. First hit almost killed me. Adjusted VAF ring to wide open, then slowly backed down to half open. I personally see no need to lung hit this device. With a stout M-T-L draw I am getting all the vapor and delicious flavor. Also, I set my coil a little elevated and allowed the wicks to droop from both ends to the deck, allowing for plenty of airflow around the coils. This seems to make a cooler vape than I expected. That's without the wide bore drip tip that is enroute here. But this thing drinks e-liquid. Good thing I keep a stocked supply of well steeped juices around !

Lowers it, because it makes it into a dual coil (it halves it). If you make 2 twisted coils, then it's like a quad!!

You can achieve the same thing just by wrapping two wires on the same wick or screwdriver (a parallel coil).

If you use dual coils in this manner - be really vigilant about your resistance measuring and your battery capability. I often used to do it to avoid using thicker, low gauge wire, which takes a while to heat up.

Since I am still trying this out, would like to post a couple pictures;

As recommended earlier in this thread, I purchased a wide bore drip tip for this mod. What a Difference Maker ! Yea, it looks great, but the real difference is in how much cooler and smoother the vape becomes. Thanks, Bossnorma, for some great advice ! :thumb:

Run those low coils Paw and you have to cool them.

Here's the simple thermodynamic vape equation: electricity from a battery heats your coils: liquid and air cools it down.

Your mission is the balance. I only run my gear with wide open air, which shows i am bone idle and i use more liquid on some of these atties - almost to the point they leak.

I really want a Reo now....I want to experience that reverse dripper fun! Maybe I will put my Reo purchase ahead of the P3...after all I do have a 40 watt DNA mod now and 2 Provari 2.5 minis...but what I don't have is Reo awesomeness. I have pretty much settled on a LP Grand...but not sure what would be the best topper for a Reo Newb...I can build, no problem there.

In that case decide if you like flavour over clouds or the other way round. Don't be too fast to dismiss clouds- it's not like they taste of nothing!

Most Reo noobs cannot build a coil at all, but since you can...get yourself a LP grand and bug us when you have it! Then there will be 20 different suggestions for atties, but the basic assumption is what i posted in my first line.

If I had to choose one over the other...I would opt for flavor but I also like clouds. Flavor 60% Clouds 40%..Point taken, I will post pics when I buy it. Which would have been today if it were not for the fact that I just dropped coin on getting my ex-hub set up with a premium vape rig....sigh...generosity is not without its disadvantages. I love the purple ones though....maybe in a few weeks...Then we can talk toppers.

Based on my now-dying thread entitled "2014 Unofficial Equipment of the Year Poll" (Reos is winning easily) I would see that Some of the more popular dual coils being used by Reonauts would be the Vicious Ant - Cyclone and Divo, and the Loki Labs - Odin. Make sure to specify 'BF' or Bottom-Feed.

Cyclone - IndyVaporShop and MyVaporStore
Odin - coralvapes and steammonkey

All depending on the catchcup size (or not) of the Reo it fits on.

Nothing wrong with any of those atties, but i reckon there's a lot more RM2's.

T

True. Someone questioned why there were nearly 40 Reos and RM2 combos in this years poll late last night. I tried to give him a suitable answer...
The 'Classic' Grand (as Rob calls it) is great for the RM2. But the LP Grand begs for something a little more..... how should I put this....
