Titanium wires

I did not oxidise the titanium wire at the picture Imeo. After what you told about the oxidation before on this thread i quit oxidising the wires. I wraped the coil just with hands without oxidation, no jet butane lighters.

No, not yet unfortunately. I gave a break for titanium wires and did not use for a few weeks. Built up a new microcoil with titanium wire yesterday and have been using it in Taifun GT since. The flavor seems a little better since my last tries. Will give it some other builds with different ohms and wraps. Trying to make it work for me. But sure as imeo mentioned, it may be because of the difference of kanthal and titanium. Because many folks have written here that they do like titanium wires...

Hi,

I could only find a titanium alloy containing iron, titanium grade is 38 and contains 92% titanium, 2.5% vanadium and 1.5% iron.

Perhaps this is the composition of titanium of e-sg....

Guys I used 0,25 Ti and got 0,9-1 ohms. Without covering the leads they get hot spots. Is that normal?

covering the leads is always better 67. Better taste, flavor, smoke

These Ti coils mostly seem to be coming out sub-ohm. I'd like to have a go with Ti, but really want to aim at about 1.4. Ideally with no more than 5 or 6 wraps. Is this doable? If so, what gauge should I be looking to buy?
I'm hoping to use VIR when it comes available. So would like to try a few (or a lot) of builds before I buy something that only works with something I'm currently not familiar with...
Advice?

Hi Dont, Im using Ti wires since released by ESG and I really like it . Not going back to Kanthal anymore . Like you i don't make sub ohms builds . My usual builds are from 1.5, up to 1,7 ohms so i started with 0,18 mm. Ti ( 33 gauge ) ESG ti wire . With a 2mm. bit 6 wraps makes 1.7 ohm ( wraps , 5 up 6 down ) . About a month ago I ordered the 0,20 mm. TI wire ( 32 gauge ) . Using same bit ( 2mm. ) 9 full wraps . Better taste and vapor as well , so it became my favorite now. Using KohGenDo cotton wick and 100% unflavored VG. only . With both Penny v3 and Tilemahos.

Thanks JMBH, that's exactly the guidance I was looking for.
Though how you manage to make a 9 wrap coil (with no touching) on such a small coil (penny), well, I doubt I could be that precise...
I'll start as you did - and see how I get on from there...

Someone got an example how to build it on the ithaka.got 1ohm and 0,5 ohm ti-readywires tried a few of my old builds but dont reach my 0,6ohm parallel mc-kanthal with it neither in taste or in amount of vape.or do i got the "wrong" ohms at my rdy-wires?

Hey guys, I am just starting out with the Ti coils. I just ordered a spool of Ti wire. I wanted the wire to be thick so I ended up ordering, Grade One 0.50 MM 50 Ft. Pure Ti. I shouldn't have any problems with this wire, correct?
