Too much???

Hi everyone. I have only been using an e-cig for a couple of days but I have already run into a problem which I feel is due to not doing enough research. On tuesday my intellicig arrived along with some x-high carts. Tuesday night was spent happily vaping away and all was well. All day wednesday and wednesday night were also spent happily vaping away and all was well. Yesterday during the day as I was vaping I was beginning to feel a bit heady and not quite right but I put it down to a lack of food as I didn't eat a great deal yesterday. Anyway I was round at a mates last night and was vaping away while he was on the regular cigs when I felt myself getting heady again and quite dizzy. I also started to feel anxious and had a bit of a panic as I could feel my heart starting to race. Needless to say I layed off the vaping for the rest of the night and the symptoms lessened a bit but even this morning I don't feel 100% and still feel heady. Can anyone help shed some light on this? Are the x-high carts too strong? I am now shightly wary about vaping today and have ended up having a couple of analogues this morning...:(

That sounds exactly like the symptoms of too much nicotine, so yes the "x-high" carts are probably too strong. Try a medium version, or buy nic juice in the 12 mg range and see if that is the right level. The good thing about nicotine poisoning is that the body will always tell you when its had enough. Cheers and good luck.

I'm not familiar with intellicig but looking at the website it says the eXtra high carts 30mg. That is quite high for many people, try going a bit lower. Somewhere around 18mg should be a good starting point but get samples of slightly lower and higher as well until you find your sweet spot.

I got my first liquid at 36mg because I thought I would need it and quickly found out it was to much. Found my place at 24mg and been there ever since although I'm going to try dropping to 18 on my next order.

You should still be able to use what you have until you can get more just take it easy and don't chain it. Take a drag and put it down for a while. That should keep your symptoms at bay until you can get more liquid with less nic.

Agreed, it sounds like you had a nicotine overdose. I used to get those sometimes. Now, I just take breaks from vaping and haven't got them since. Either slow down your intake or like deathtobacco said. Just lower your nic level if your a heavy/chain vapor.

You should be good and yeah, it does take a few hours for you to feel better again.

Thanks for the reply. I have some juices coming this weekend and i'm sure I have ordered them in 25mg strength so I will do a bit of reading up on how to dilute them down as I feel as though 25mg is also going to be too strong. I guess when I ordered the carts I was being a bit nieve and thought I could handle whatever I vaped.

I think it would be really good if the e-liquid/cart shops could put some kind of warning along side the products for people like me who stupidly think they can vape any strength without any problems. I would like to see liquids/carts in the high-very high strength ranges with a side note saying only recommended for experienced vapers due to possible risk of OD. Also I think it would be good if the strengths could be grouped according to how many cigs the vaper used to smoke. For example 12-18mg juice could come under the 20 cigs a day group and so on.

Again thanks for the reply, hope I start feeling better soon!!!

Happens to many of us when starting, I just thought I'd need the higher nic but quickly found out it wasn't for me.

If your getting bottles of liquid it's easy to dilute. The easiest way without loosing flavor is to order the same liquid at a lower level and then mix them, if you mix 25mg and 5mg at the same ratio you'll have 15mg. It's an easy way to mix small amounts and find out what works. You can also mix it with VG but that will reduce flavor well as the nic.

It's really hard to go by what we smoked previously. Some people that smoked an occasional light cigarette need 36mg while others that smoked 2 pack of regs a day find they need less, it's really up to person and what they need. Everyone asked about mg level according to what they smoke but that's rarely an effective way of finding out what will work.

Don't blame yourself when ecig hardware doesn't work right. Move on.

Some juice makers do post warnings, think I saw it in TastyVapor.us's FAQ as well as other vendor's. Dekang, the biggest juice manufacturer, used to put out 36 mg juice, but stopped, 26 mg is the highest they do now. Good thing you at least realized you were ODing. Someone out there would vape 'til they pass out, hopefully not while driving. Someone claimed they were vaping 50-60 mg nic. It's wild.

Keep in mind it's common to vape more than you smoked to compensate for other "goodies" BT put in cigs. I'm vaping twice as much, but I knew I would and cut my nic down to half. Instead of limiting myself with higher nic but fewer vapes, I vape all day, knowing my nic intake has not increased. I'll cut the frequency if/when I feel my body's ready. Consider?

Edit: All vendors should post warning, but there'll be someone who won't listen...:(

    sounds like too much nic.
I'd been vaping for a long time when 24mg finally caught up with me..........I went 2 days without sleep. I had palpatations, thought I was gonna die.

I ordered 0mg juice from my favorite vendor to cut my 24mg stuff down to 6mg. I had to diy until it got here, but still.......I felt much better.

Yeah......Alien Visions is a good thing.......so good that 24mg finally caught up with my hard core azz.
