If you do the same built in Kanthal, assuming a 2.5 mm ID, it will put you at about 0.6 ohms. Keep in mind, as Shawn said, that in the vaping pleistocene sub-ohm was the exception, not the rule and as such, most gear and its components weren't designed for very high temps. Ten wraps of Kanthal will bring you closer to 1 ohm, 7 wraps of 30g will also get you to 1 ohm. In those days 30g-32g were the popular wires because you could build to above ohm without too many wraps or the heating delay you'd have from thicker wire.
