Yaabsolutely :)
Every mech. mod, which is not a clone - has some sort of a locking mechanism and has battery ventilation - is noob friendly.

It is not about the mech. mod. It is about knowing what you're doing. Knowing Ohm's law, knowing not to build super low resistance coils, knowing not to short them, purchasing quality batteries, from reputable vendors, taking care of the battery terminals and sleeve, using an atty whose pos-pin slightly protrudes from its 510 housing and maintaining (polishing/cleaning) the mod's terminals (topcap & switch) which keeps you safe.
For the more part, this is spot on. However, there are a few authentics that DO NOT have a locking mechanism. If locking is important to you (and, honestly, it should be), then double check the specs and avoid those that do not have locks. Off the top of my head, the Broadside, Black Ring 1 and 2, Limitless, and Manhattan do not have locking rings. With the exception of the Manhattan, they have recessed buttons instead. The Manhattan has a protruding button, and relies in very strong magnets...

I know ohms law, not by heart yet as I haven't had much reason to specifically use it - I build above 1 ohm coils on regulated devices, using an ohm reader to test before using. When I get to a place where I have figures I need to actually plug in and work I am capable of doing that. I'm super careful with my batteries, I use verified authentic batteries from reputable dealers, visual check at every use for damage to wraps (and have all supplies for rewrapping) and always store and carry extras in appropriate cases. I use KF v5 mini styled tanks and it looks like the 510 pin protrudes but I don't have the experience to look at it and know if it's enough. Keeping everything clean is no problem either, all part of maintenance. I really do like the GP you posted, it's on the list to check out in more detail. Thanks!

Except for the "KF v5 mini styled tanks", you're perfectly fine (and ready) to go ahead with mech. mods my friend. Pls grab one asap ~ mechs are charming!

Getting mech'ed out is a few slots down on the to do list, saving for a particular shiny at the moment ;) More time to learn and study the matter is important too, this is not something I want to jump into blindly. There's just so many beautiful, sleek looking tubes out there!

I'm not interested in mechs either. Maybe some day, but definitely not in the near future

I'd say it's in my future by Fall. Expecting a decent windfall by the end of the year and vaping desires will be greatly indulged.

I started-off (vaping) with mechs. 108 mods down the line - a mech still is always in my pocket. Can't do w/out those lovely tubes!

I'll have what Victor was having.(x210)

Score, @qorax , and thanks for posting, @Katdarling . I've hit play on that thing about five times today. GOTTA LOVE VICTOR!!!

Gorgeous mods, some of those mechs. My admiration for the aesthetic value has never wavered.

I just want a mech in case fit hits the shan and all my regulated/VW/TC mods bite the dust. Good for a backup when traveling too. Simple and reliable, but I have no interest in using one regularly.
That is among my reasons for wanting to learn this side of vaping. Nothing, NO FDA, is getting in between me and my vape. Other than that there are so many aesthetically pleasing options I just want to touch.

A slightly different view of mech's. I love the look and feel of mechs but I can't use base buttons to fire so my choices were limited to mods with top fire. I have a few varying types. I put kicks in them all so I didn't have to deal with my lazy battery attitude. but....... while I got a great vape I am still using tanks that have finiky connections so I slowly switched back to regulated devices. I still have them all if I need them in the future.

For the first time the dicode Dani's that I have, look like a mech but act like a regulated mod and I am loving the setups.

I have an Atto and a Colibri on the way. There's a Poldiac in the mix on my shelf, and the Mod 101, of course....
