A couple of months ago, I chopped off a bunch of a fingertip (the entire right half of the nail on my forefinger was gone) and I could not believe the amount of pain it caused. For over a week, it felt like my finger was being burned and crushed by a boulder at the same time.

I kept thinking about that box that kyle maclachlan had to keep his hand in - "it had to be just like this", I thought. lol

I wish someone would reboot that franchise with a major motion picture. Such a great story, so much potential for a franchise if done well, such a crappy interpretation done in that movie. What a shame.

A hurricane you know when it's coming, From what I see on the news here, I'd worry more about the sink holes. Just like our earthquakes, you never know.
I'd rather have the hurricanes than tornados…having lived through both. With hurricanes you time to prepare but with tornados most of the time you get a 5 minute alert…literally.

A few years before we moved down here a farm just north of us got that 5 minute alert. They ran out and into a semi subterrenian shelter about 20 feet away from their house. Then they watched their ENTIRE house except one door and the toilet fly away.

DH and I spent several days helping those farmers try to clean up. So much devastation. Most farms in that area lost homes, licestock, vehicles…all flew away.

Maybe not the worst. I'd tag Battlefield Earth for that....

That sucks. I had a credit card hacked a couple of years ago. Read up on it and got my records locked at the credit agencies. You can do it on-line in a few hours. That really gives you some serious protection. Someone could still get hold of my credit card information, but they couldn't open a new card or take out a loan in my name.

You can temporarily unlock your records at an agency if you apply for a job or need a loan yourself.
Thanks for the info. I'll look into that.

First, I haven't had time to go back and post a "like" for everyone who offered ideas about my "mystery". I'll do that yet today though.

I've got an update though, for anyone interested. Finally had the chance to call Amazon Customer Service just a few minutes ago, after dealing with several elderly parent issues this AM.

The items I received were ordered and shipped July 28th by a person who lives in Savannah, GA. I don't know this person at all...never even heard her name before minutes ago. She placed the order for the items online and paid for them herself, not with either of my CC. SHE entered my full legal name and address to be used for the shipping label. CS rep. could see that in the order info.

So, there was no database mix up, or other way for my information to have ended up on the shipping label. This person...has my information somehow!

I had the representative totally close out my Amazon acct. I last used in 2009. He guaranteed me that any/all of my info. was deleted from Amazon.

Now, I'm stuck with trying to figure out how & why this person even has my info! It's not a comfortable feeling to say the least, because if she has that...what else does she have?
I agree with @kad2371. That's standard con artist procedure from what a cop friend told me and have since read about. You start with something small and if it goes through and no red flags are raised you go for the big fish.

I would ask Amazon to contact that lady and alert her.

I've always loved it anyway, I remember my mom watching it when I was little, BUT my love of the Dune universe truly comes from the books. With all the movie magic they have these days they could reboot it properly. I know sci-fi channel attempted to do it some years back but I never watched it.

So I never thought I would get down with a minty vape but I tried a cucumber raspberry spearmint juice in a b&m recently. They didn't have my strength so I didn't buy any but have been attempting to recreate it. Two revisions in and what I have is turning out to be a great summer vape. It's also my first attempt at a from scratch recipe so I'm pretty proud of myself.

I'm quite enjoying my new KF "Shorty", thanks to @JCinFLA . Now I know what all the fuss is about!
Still getting used to bottom fill and being able to fill without the cap popping off. Any tips?

I'd like to see a movie version of Starship Troopers that was actually based on the novel. That would be great.

It actually wasn't "our" fault. The Texas Association of School Boards accidentally had the information of almost 1000 school districts open for 3 days. That means, our ss numbers, birth dates, EVERYTHING.

What a freaking nightmare! Ugh!!!

I know I'm a little late but I hope everyone in FL is safe!

It's falling apart as it comes across the state. I'm on the Treasure coast. Raining right now and a little breezy. Some rumbles of thunder.
