I've just accepted it as part of vaping (same with leaking tanks).

NO... thats wrong. I would not accept any leaking as part of vaping. None of my subtank mini's, kayfuns, protanks or Merlins(they seep) leak at all, they never have. I don't want to come off as gruff but its the wicking 99% of the time causing leaks or the use of factory coils. Too much wicking sitting against the wrong place promoting juice to move thus IMO creating drops at the coil that run down the airflow. I would be reevaluating my wicking techniques until I got it so it doesn't leak.
My attys can sit for days unused standing up on a hitter or a stand and never a drop leaked. I did have problems with TFV4 RBA leaking long ago, enough to shelf the atty but I solved that with tail thinning and trimming the wick into a kinda point to go into the channel.

I don't think you sound gruff![emoji4] I appreciate the info! It is absolutely NO surprise that it is probably operator wicking error that's causing my problem. It really is important to find that sweet spot of the perfect amount of wick! I'm still learning, I guess. But I would've thought/hoped my technique would be better after rebuilding for around 8 months. Or is that still considered new?

I hear ya about the messes...so annoying. I've just accepted it as part of vaping (same with leaking tanks). That's not the first time I've had it suggested to make the hole a little larger-great idea, thank you! [emoji4] It's my fault for not doing that earlier! Don't even get me started on needle tip bottles, they ALWAYS end up with the cap loosening or popping off, both causing a mess! Very frustrating!
I should start refilling tanks in the kitchen as my chair in my crafts/vaping room is all stained with juice!
I like the luer lock caps and needles. They fit on a wider mouth 30/60ml bottles and very little mess at all when refilling my tanks. Use a 14 gauge needle and it literally takes 2 seconds to fill a tank. Sometimes the needles are not even needed so the opening in the cap allows for easy flow of liquid. The 14 gauge also fits the fill hole in the kayfun bases perfectly.

:)

eta the also have 15ml sized bottles and luer caps to fit

Wow, that's fast filling! Maybe I'm using the wrong needle/bottle set-up as I've had needles fail on me too. This case is obviously operator error, just like the wicking!

I use these bottles and caps.
Amazon.com: Buying Choices: 30ml Needle Bottle dropper bottle eliquid bottle liquid bottle squeeze bottle Steel Needle TIP Dropper Bottle (30ml)

May not work with high vg juice though, I'm a 75/25 (pg/vg) guy

But those needles take so long to get the juice into the tank and you have to squeeze hard to push it through. Hurts my hands to use those types.
With luer lock caps you can pick any size gauge needle you want to disburse the juice. I can post links if there is any interest.

OSDIY has the bottles and luer caps in 3 sizes, 1, 2, and 1/2 ounce. Whenever I buy flavors from them I usually throw a few into the cart.
Boston Round Bottle with Luer Lock Cap

And the stoppers--to close the caps when not in use. I prefer the clear.
5 Pack Luer Lock Syringe Caps

They are a little expensive so if I need a larger supply I have links for very reasonable prices(in bulk). OSDIY also sells them with 18 gauge needles but for me those are way to small to suck up vg.

Thanks!
I have to work up an order with them anyway soon, so I'll try it out.

I'm quite enjoying my new KF "Shorty", thanks to @JCinFLA . Now I know what all the fuss is about!
Still getting used to bottom fill and being able to fill without the cap popping off. Any tips?

Glad you got one.

I dont use the fill port EVER!

Thats why i love the Kompact Kayfun.

Screw the barrel into the bell cap tightly. You can bottom fill the Kompact Kayfun.

I've never had a problem, but don't use the soft unicorn bottles.

I usually hold the bottle between thumb and middle finger, with index finger pressing down on the bottom of the bottle.

Press the tip firmly into the fill hole and hold it snug, then just go slowly.

Thanks! I think the high VG ratio also has something to do with my issue
I can't remember where I bought mine (3+ years ago) but I use this style. 30ml Bottles (100 Lot) - Certified

I also vape high VG (70%) and have no problem with them. Filling is a PITA because of the small neck. A syringe (10-20ml) works best.
