Booze of any type is way too expensive up here to wash attys with. I think washing attys with booze is a false positive. Little bit of soap and water along with a good hot rinse has sufficed me and never had any soap taste. The soap cuts the film that just plain water doesn't cut. The booze would cut it also but I rather drink it.

In other words, you use vodka too, only differently!

I have zero problems getting my stuff clean with hot water... No off tastes, no gunk building up and the gear is as clean as the day it was purchased...... So, why would I waste my drinking stock on cleaning? Vodka is for drinking, not cleaning parts ;)

Just rinse very well and then let air dry . . .

    It works very well on "gunked-up" coils . . . I know . . .

Yeah, I Make loads of wine and I would never use that or any other type of alcohol for cleaning... Sure, alcohol would clean through the gunk faster than water but I reserve all types of Ethyl alcohol for drinking..... Just my alcoholic mindset

I hope he's still ok today. @retired1 how are you faring?
Yeah, I don't imagine the folks in Texas want to see any rain again as long as they live ... I know I wouldn't... They have about another day of getting pounded by rain and then it should start moving East.. I also hope that retired1 escaped most of the water damage.

I also remove the build out of my subtank RBA, then take the RBA apart to bits then wash it also. Even after washing the RBA as a whole unit there is still juice and cooked residue under the delrin insulator, the positive insulator also still slick with juice and I get a burny taste if I don't run a rolled up alcohol soaked piece of paper towel through the airflow shaft that comes out with chunkies and burnt residue. I then put the same build back into the RBA and march forward.
Dryburning the coil first then rewicking has left me with a YUK burny taste that spoils a fresh wick too many times so its now just habit to disassemble the RBA or just put the same build into another cleaned RBA and toss the old one into the wash-me bin.

Good to know! I don't really disassemble the RBA for cleaning. I think I will now!

    yummy...vodka.

you guys actually clean stuff? lol.
I just let my atties soak in really hot water and dry them off and used can air to blow out the crevices...maybe 3 times a year? my drip tips get cleaned a little more often.

i normally only have 2 or 3 mods in use at once. I use vinegar to clean the important bits on my mech mods, and a damp qtip to clean the 510 on my regulated mod.

I'm always forgetting about our friend, canned air! Next cleaning session for sure!

I stick a drill bit through the holes on the bottom of the RBA and it twists apart. You'll surprise yourself at what you will find since most wash the atty first then dryburn the coil and all the burnt cooties fall down the airflow, I've rinsed after the dryburn and it doesn't remove all the burnt, they have to be wiped out. Just don't tighten it too much putting it back together. I had one break right where it screwed into the top piece, that was my first subtank causality in the couple years we've been using them.
