Yeah, I don't imagine the folks in Texas want to see any rain again as long as they live ... I know I wouldn't... They have about another day of getting pounded by rain and then it should start moving East.. I also hope that retired1 escaped most of the water damage.

I live out in the boonies east of San Antonio. Got about 10 inches of rain here, but in town it was far less. No flooding, but the winds did do a number on the fence and gates. The big gate has 3 inch lag bolts securing the hinges to the post. Winds were strong enough to rip them right out.

I hope you don't mind us worrying about you. All the news reports we see up here are so hard to watch and not worry about the people in the area. I'm glad you aren't in the floods, and seem to be OK except for having some fence blow down. If you had critters inside the fence, I hope they stayed close to home and didn't go wandering.

^^^ yeah, I keep the soap away as I don't like blowing bubbles......... IMO pure water is the only way to go for cleaning.

Forgot to rinse one time, and you're off the bus?

Yeah, generally I'll only use dish soap on new tanks (fully disassembled, of course) to make sure any machine oil is gone.

And for those falling "crusties"? After the hot water wash and dry burn, I blow in through the air intake to force them back out.

I use hot water, paper towels, and Q tips. I could do a better job if I had some tiny brushes I think. Anyone have a source for tiny brushes?

That must have been some gnarly wind .... It's good to hear that you didn't get too flooded.... The poor folks in Houston didn't escape the rainfall that's for sure .... I just imagine that it will be in the Billions of dollars to repair and restore large sections of Houston. I was watching that storm a couple of days b4 it ever made landfall and the meteorologists were all saying that it was going to stall and just sit over Southern Texas producing unusually large amounts of rain and that is exactly what it did. A very odd hurricane for sure.

Unfortunately, it's the high pressure out here in the west we are sitting under that is keeping that storm where it's at, and it's expected to last thru the week.
The wife's daughter and her husband live in Spring, a little ways north of Houston, and they can't get out to get to work in Houston, buy groceries, ect. They stocked up on water, and candles, but not food.

Huh, I know an ECFer that lives in Spring, small world. (Or big city?)
Where he's at it sounded like it's not too bad, no danger of his house flooding, but some of the roads out of his neighborhood were flooded.

Yeah, house is ok, just flooded streets. They live on Suwanee street, and they call it the Suwanee river.

I bought the clearish and black plastic bristle brushes eons ago and they are super useful for many other things other than cleaning driptips and attys. I cut off the loop and about a inch or so, drilled a small hole into a short dowel, drop of glue then stuck the brush into the hole almost right up to the bristles and its more stable to use and now has a handle.

Good to hear you're doing well. I lived Northeast of San Antonio for five years. Schertz, Cibilo, Universal City, Live Oak. My Sister and brother-in-law (and the extended family) have a place out near Seguin still.
