Well At Least I Got Something !!!...I bought one of those little Coil Master kits off eBay...Every now & then eBay does have something useful...The meter is kind of a stinky little thing but it works and it's more accurate than I was expecting...I wouldn't build on it but as a pre-test before putting on a mod it's fine for now...But the rest of the kit is all pretty darned nice gear and the case is very nice...For $28 I think it's steal...Great Starter Kit...
...But the really good news is I just got the up-dated shipping advice...My Siren 2 should be here tomorrow !!!

That's the same one that I grabbed. I like it a lot. The cotton that they throw in there is crap, though. But I like all of the stuff that it came with other than that. Can't complain.

My cell has a flat 3200 mAh li-on battery located just under a very thin plastic back piece. If it were to vent or go into thermal runaway it would act nothing like the 'shaped charge' that an 18650 is when sitting inside of a well sealed mod. With a wired or Bluetooth headset it's not even near my face when I use it, the battery isn't even in front of my hand when I hold it, and I don't charge it unattended overnight.
Agreed. But we aren't talking about a 18650, I thought it was posted as a 4400mah li-on, which is more flat and not necessarily as rounded like a cylinder.? And there are those of us who don't use a wired or Bluetooth headset with our cell phones, just answer the phone like we always did with the old rotary ones.

Isn't variety great. To each their own.

Nuh uh, she's got a 4400 mAh Lipo in there. I didn't realize that it wasn't a li-on until I googled the mod. Looks like a Lipo is potentially more dangerous but I don't know for sure. I haven't used one in decades. I'd assume the battery is kind of block-y shaped since her device has a box mod look to it though. But a cell battery is pretty flat and a modern cell is a pretty flimsy thing. There isn't a solid structure around the battery to help shape the blast if the battery blows up. In theory it would be substantially safer.

You are such an optimist!

I bought some small things last year from amazon about this time of year.

Three separate parcels. All from chinese vendors. One arrived the end of January. One in February and the last one at the end of March.

I didn't realize it was a lipo either. In any case, she has stopped using it and has agreed to test it in a few days. If the problem still exists on testing then I am sure she is gonna get rid of it.

I’d like to take a moment to mourn this ego aio. It’s what got me off smoking and will always have a place in my heart. I️ couldn’t resist the kitty hand check! [emoji4]

It always sucks when gear dies. I buried a vv3 this week. It had served me well.

Just curious. I ordered and received an OBS engine RTA a week or so and coiled it up and used it. Not really my idea of MTL, but it's great for DTL vaping ... free flow and big clouds with the air flow turned up (as much as is possible with high PG juices). Too bad I'm not a fan of heavy lung hits. I just don't think it's safe to deep inhale anything for years and years. That's just me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe I'm just stuck on the Kayfun Lite experience where I inhale shallowly and exhale through the mouth or nose.

Is the Nano just a single coil version of the same OBS Engine tank? 25mm and 5.x juice capacity sounds like it's the same tank with a different coil deck. Either that or the single coil version vaporizes juice better at low air flow settings.

Maybe I'll wrap up a single coil version and mount the single coil between the posts and see how that works.

It's most common for a LiPo to go ballistic (if it's going to) when charging. That's why a product called the "LiPo bag" exists.
The RC guys say it's most common after the cell has taken a sharp blow (like a model plane crash)

It's The Little Thing's I Like Best...The simplicity/design/function of the Coil Master Jig is really a pleasure...Just sitting here...For Fun & Education...Pulled out my kit, 24g wire, 3.0 jig and twisted up my very 1st coil...I wouldn't say it's a user but I bet it'd work !!!...By all rights I don't really think I should be able to do this on my very 1st crack at making a coil...And here I went and bought all those pre-made coils :D...But that's AOK...Rainy Day or just be'in lazy they'll be nice to have lay'in around...Need a little practice on my leads & spacing ...Trig

That would work just fine - with a wick ;)

Looks very good, Trigs. The spacing, while not "perfect" is pretty good, no shorted turns, no really big variations. Heck, I'd slap it on, wick and vape!
Well...Thank You Kind Sir :)...However I'm still missing the main ingredient !!!...Hopefully by about noonish my tank should arrive at it's new home...Then I can get down to business :D...Have a little fun around here !!!

Here's A Newish Vid on the "Ares"...Good look at the deck at time index 46:00...And a "Screw" coiling rod...
