One of my older brothers started commenting years ago that he was very lucky when he did his shopping for his sister's birthday and for Christmas...because he got to shop at places like Lowe's and Home Depot! :D

I've never been a "frilly" female either. Never wanted to be. I grew up with 2 older brothers, in a neighborhood with almost all boys in the families, and with a Mom & Dad who both were active members of sports teams for years.

My wife was a Daddy's girl. Our first date involved a portable concrete mixer and ended with a sidewalk from the front porch to the mailbox for her Dad's Father's Day present. When we retired about the same time from our careers, I enrolled in a Cisco Network course at the local tech school and she chose a Construction Management course at the same time (her Nephew owns a construction company and she worked with him for a while after retirement). We both walked the stage for our diplomas the same night.

It's pretty cool when a lady can wear jeans and work in the dirt one day and put on a frilly dress the next and look great in both.

All I can say is I am finally retired and can now completely be myself! No more dressy work clothes for me! I will spend my remaining days on earth in my jeans, t-shirts, flannel shirts, boots and flip flops!
This girl has never liked bling bling! Well except all my silver and turquoise.
Now if hubby were to get me an RV for clamping that would be great! But I am totally thrilled with my the Xbox One X I got for Xmas! Killing zombies is awesome! Gaming and vaping make my day!

You remind me of one of my first jobs just out of HS over the summer.... My dad convinced an NIH pal to interview me for a summer job, and (many years later, as I wound up working there for a bit AFTER college) the doctor in charge told me, "Well, I liked you but I mainly hired you because you wore Doc Martins to the interview.... I figured anyone who would do that was an independent thinker."

What a sweet guy he was, and I had a lot of fun running acrylamide gels and completing gene sequencing. LOL. It was a really fun subdivision filled with fun characters and a slowly evolving inter-office romance :) I'm glad he liked my doc martins and my least favorite job of all time was ADMIN where I had to wear suits, high heels, and fire people. That was also one of my shortest lasting jobs, I was like, "I can barely control myself at times, who am I to be FIRING people." Even though it's necessary, LOL, the day after I had to fire someone, I quit.

I think my mom thinks I have no "nice clothes" because the only time I really dig them out is when I'm going on a date with the husband.... I think she thinks the fire "ate" my clothes, it most certainly did not (though I did TONS of pruning). Give me jeans, dansco clogs, and a shirt without rips, stains or holes, and I am MOST happy.

Oddly enough, I have no high heels, and ni dresses (-:

I have a couple suits and ties, but my day to day is jeans, boots (cowboy dress or waffle maker work), button down shirt and denim jacket.

The button down shirt and denim jacket are essential as I carry my mods in breast pockets, and I almost always carry at least 2... often 3...

I suppose I should know this, and I've heard the term "Button Down Shirt", but, what is it? I can't recall ever having one, maybe I did, and just didn't know it.
the opposite would be a pullover like a tshirt...

or less commonly a tube top

Unlike most vapers I actually have not one but two vaperversaries.

May 14, 2013 I kicked the 38 year cigarette habit.

December 28, 2015 I kicked my need for nicotine.

Today is my second vaperversary for two years nicotine free.

@oplholik . . .

Here's another version of a "Button Down" that I happen to know a few people around here have worn (or should have) . . . ;)
