Cleaned and shined up my trusty mech tootle puffer, time to shelve this fine piece of metal.. make way for the new fandangled models. I'll take this out only when my shiny new models have lived their lives, and it'll be waiting and ready to be the Workhorse it was, is, and will always be.

I think my 18650 Simplicity will be the last mech standing in my stable. We'll never see mods quite like those again.

I'm glad I bought the Super T's when they were available. They may have been a bit expensive, but you paid for precise machining, grade A materials, and craftsmanship. It was a bonus for me to also support a somewhat local business. I have the SS tube if I ever get bored of my brass. I've also got 2 ELAs v2 that will also definitely stand the test of time. This Workhorse has seen daily use and "abuse" for 6 years. It's been dropped too many times to count, even in water, and still continued to work perfectly! I just really like the fact that I have a great cushion to land on if these regulated mods I have all fail.

My "mechs" all say, "Provari" on them.

I've got enough. I promise.

He, he ... these are the P2.5's my wife and I eventually moved to. And then picked up some P3's and Classics, not to mention the Radii, to round out the Provari Family. These are all slant top originals ... looking back I wish I had some of the top ends converted.

What is this "Provari" you speak of.

III. DISCOVERY

“…Behind my beloved waterfall, in the little room that was hidden beneath the cave, I found it. I brushed away the dust of the years, and picked it up, holding it reverently in my hands. I had no idea what it might be, but it was beautiful…”

“…I learned to lay my fingers across the wires, and to turn the keys to make them sound differently. As I struck the wires with my other hand, I produced my first harmonious sounds, and soon my own music! How different it could be from the music of the Temples! I can’t wait to tell the priests about it! …”

What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It’s got wires that vibrate, and give music
What can this thing be that I found?

See how it sings like a sad heart
And joyously screams out its pain
Sounds that build high like a mountain
Or notes that fall gently, like rain.

I can’t wait to share this new wonder
The people will all see its light
Let them all make their own music
The Priests praise my name on this night.

@Burnie Happy Vapeversary!

Mechs? I've got a couple-few in storage. Unfortunately, all but one of my Super-T's are 18490 versions and those batts are getting more and more rare.

Oh ... what makes you say that?

Now that good 18490/18350 size batts are getting rare, I thought the flat top would be nice to have to use flat top batts.

The conversion is just an external change, nothing internal. It does not take flat-top batteries.

The top is converted from the slant-top to the P3-style connection, which happens to come with its own problems. Sometimes the 510 adapter and ring get a bit misaligned. An atty can get stuck and not want to come off.

ah ha ... for whatever reason I thought it allowed for flat tops. Now that you said it, it's obvious to me that the rest of the internals remain the same. duh me!

Yes, I've had an air screw on a KFL-Lite back out and get stuck in that ring on a Radius. I forget how I got it apart but didn't want it to happen again.

Bottom air screws? Once I know where I want them, I take them out, put a tiny dab of rubber cement on the threads and put it back. Never back out, but easy to remove if needed.

Sometimes, inverting the assembly and gently tapping for a while can help to "walk" the screw back in, for removal without marring the mod. Found that out before I went to rubber cement ;)

I just take all the air screws out before I use my KFs.
