Without lots of experience I would not recommend anyone replace a internal lipo. Its not hard to do but one mistake and you could be burned really badly.

And even then it may not be worth the time and effort for an inexpensive mod.

I have a friend who has a couple Cool Fire 4's and I replaced the battery's in both of those about a year ago I'd say. I put LG HE2's in them and they are still kickin like they were brand new. I would say it is worth it if the mod is something that will last you a good while. As far as an istick goes? Well that would depend on the owner to decide if its worth I guess. And can they or do they have someone that can do it for them.

Do you know what size pre built coil is best for kayfun 5? I don't want to buy the wrong size coil again

What are you after a round wire or clapton? Either way a 2.5mm ID would be ideal and if it will be a clapton make sure it is not a framed or stapled or alien or anything fancy. Just a plain clapton idealy in the .60 to 1.0 ohm range per coil.

Here are some more.

Prebuilt Coils - Pack of 10 - Clapton 0.6ohm
UD Prebuilt Specialty SS316L Fused Clapton Coils

Or since you are rebuilding now and know how to make a coil why not just buy a roll of Clapton wire and make your own. Then you know they will be the right size.

Youde UD Clapton Stainless Steel SS316L Wire 26ga 30ga
Youde UD Clapton Stainless Steel SS316L KA1 Wire 26ga 30ga

I'm not ready to build Clapton coils. But I am really curious to see what they are like
If you do get a roll of the pre-made clapton wire you make coils just the same as you have been. Its actually easier because the wire is thicker and more manageable.

Loved my istick 30... battery was $10 and a little bit of time to replace it. It was more the challenge of fixing it than the value... plus, I hate throwing out stuff that is repairable.

What kind of battery did you put in it?

I'm a relative newbie with lots of questions...
In that case, welcome to this thing called vaping, it will soon become more than just a hobby...if you let it. Since you make jewelry, making a clapton or even a fused clapton (2 core wires wrapped in a very thin outer wire) is a breeze. I thought the Kayfun 5 was still too airy for my liking but the kayfun mini v3 is much better (for my tastes). I usually build my coils around 0.8 ohms.

Yeah I'm really wanting a different kayfun. As I didn't choose to have it in the first place (long story) .
I'm just using it for practice. I don't really like it that much and it gets used maybe 3 puffs a day and that's it. I only use it because I hate my Smok TCT tank and don't have regular coils for those yet and my (also barely used) m80+, doesn't handle PT tanks well

Thank you @Bea-FL , I feel welcome indeed. If you have a Nautilus/mini try the Clapton Triton mini coils in it, it makes a world of difference.

I just can't justify paying $100 for a new kayfun when I am using all of my extra money to buy nic and devices. Is there a decent RBA for under $30? Or is it just that good RBAs are spendy?
Clone Kayfun are pretty inexpensive at FT and work great. I'm tagging @Two_Bears here so he'll see this post and give you some advice.

IMO he is our resident expert on Kayfun and helped me out a lot when I first joined ECF and had lots of questions.
