@ChelsB , no problem. I didn't think you were dumb at all, I figured something like that.

I think the biggest issue with rebuilding those PT coils is making sure the negative wire (the one between the rubber and the outside of the coil base) gets folded over really tightly before inserting the rubber. Then lift it enough to get nail clippers or wire cutters nice and close to cut it off. Anything left should be tucked in and down to avoid any contact with the center pin.

Also, use a lighter gauge wire (nothing bigger than 30ga) to keep the overall width of the coil down giving less of a chance of the positive side coming into contact with the coil body. I always had good luck with 30ga.

6 wraps of 30ga Kanthal around a round tooth pick (just under 2mm) should come in a around 1.3 ohms. The tooth pick will drop into the wicking slots and keep the coil set perfectly while you put ti together. Once the bottom pin is set and the leads trimmed, slide out the tooth pick and check your resistance.

If it reads a short, use the tooth pick to position the coil right in the middle of the opening so it isn't touching the outer walls. Once it reads good; wick it, check it again, fill the tank, vape, and enjoy (grunting is optional ;))

Wow, thank you! Yes, there's been quite a bit of cursing going on. But I WILL succeed getting those little buggers to work!

I think that it will do what you want. The DNA boards have a more consistent vape then most of the mods out there. It doesn't have to be complicated if you aren't interested in temp control.

I got my first provari a couple of months ago & the codes were very confusing to me. If you can master a provari, you can master a DNA mod. Especially if it is a straight kanthal coil.

I look at it like this; with the DNA boards you use Escribe once to set everything up and you get a very easy to use device. You just use two buttons to switch profiles and you're done. With my Smok Alien, for example, you have to go into the menu, select TC, adjust the tcr, adjust the wattage and then exit out of the menu. That takes me about 30-45 seconds to do and I'm pretty tech savvy. With Evolv you hold two buttons AND use the very same buttons to select the profile you want, un-lock and bam! You're back vaping in five seconds! No menus, no BS and as Apple likes to say it just works. Escribe makes the device 10x easier for day to day usage.

Who would actually bother buying a DNA 40 in 2017? You can get a DNA 75 for the same price.

Where does one find a dna 75 for $30 including shipping?

And...lots of us on here have bought dna 40s in the last couple of months.

Got links for DNA75 for $30-$40 then?

I have 6-7 DNA75's, and cheapest was $50 on a sale, but would grab one of them macro DNA40's for $30 if had anything but pink and purple.

Womping is about upping the wattage settings of the mod and vaping lower ohm coils than Tootle puffers would normally use. Also heading towards direct lung inhaling of the vaping. Its a different style of vaping but we still luv them despite.

And we still luv you too, Kris ;) :D

    MWAH!!!!!
