You will get the hang of it.........eventually
My consumables are the cheap part and like Mr flakes it's the other bits that cost.
Thanks, XX. I appreciate the continuing encouragement.![]()
Guess we showed them!
(And, with the surge to 0.000000001 Ω coil toppers, and 50 megawatt devices, the cut-rate pricing for "lesser" devices has sure been good to us!)
Problem is, ya can't walk into any B&M and find juice that isn't 80% (or Max) VG and better than 6mg/ml Nic anymore. I DIY but every once in a while I want to try something new, even if not simply for inspiration...
Yesterday i came into one one of newly opened shops, looking for 1.8 Ohm coils for my wife's Triton. They were trying hard to convince me there is no such coils, so i had to Google it for them of my phone lol. In most cases that's the situation in shops around here. Uneducated youngsters selling stuff they know little about. Makes me wonder how many freshly turned vapers are really sticking to the vape because of poor customer service in the shops like that one![]()
Looks like I have to wait a little longer the deal fell thru. Which is ok the timing was not 100% ill find what I am looking for in the next week or two im sure.
During our one year we have seen every type of tootle puffer imaginable and everyone one of them has their favourite way of vaping and type of gear they prefer. If we can help them with appropriate answers to their questions and support with any hiccups they have then I feel we are doing the right thing. This is one of the few threads I participate in because it seems to not have a bias towards a particular set of vaping gear just a style.
Whatever works.,.......is a good mantra.
Plus there is good people
I ordered last night and pick up 22, 24 and 26g Kanthal to replenish my stock, added 4 HG2's and the Twizer (Ceramic Tweezer/Atty Wrench). I also used the LV15 and got a free 30ml bottle of their Rolling Thunder.
Reading all these posts about bad vape shops makes me realize how lucky I am to have the lone shop in my little town. I stumbled in there on a whim a few weeks back just to get an idea what the whole vaping thing was about. Told the lady I didn't want to buy anything but just wanted to learn a bit. She took about an hour telling me about all the benefits. I tested a bunch of flavors but wasn't impressed. Was using a really cheap battery with those plastic mouthpiece covers and everything was muted and weak. I finally decided I did like the strawberry.
She guided me to an iStick Basic, one of the cheapest products she had, and told me when if I decided to try something, this should be it. It was $39.99 and included 12ml of any juice I wanted plus an extra coil. It dawned on me that I could buy that thing for less than a carton of cigarettes and give vaping a try. I told her I wanted to give it a shot. If she had led me to something more expensive and complicated, I absolutely would not have bought anything since I truly had no intention of quitting smokes at that point.
She loaded it with juice, showed me how to replace the coil when the time came and, at my insistence, mixed my strawberry juice at 30mg...lol. Bless her, she did as I asked but also handed a second free bottle made at 18 mg and told me if I found the 30mg harsh or unpleasant to vape, just mix it half and half with the 18 to make a more reasonable 24mg vape. Needless to say, that's exactly what I did about 30 minutes later.
Here's the thing. After smoking for 48 years and working my way up to more than a carton a week of Winston reds (the long ones) I never smoked another cigarette from that day. I haven't really even wanted one. That's what's so remarkable.
Anyway, this is my long-winded way of saying the lady at my local vape shop probably saved my life. She most certainly made it more pleasant. She was patient, enthusiastic and not out to make a bunch of money off an unknowing doofus who just showed up with a bunch of annoying questions. God bless her.

I hear you. I really liked smoking, but not enough to want to die for it. I tell people I accidentally quit. Sounds weird, but it's true. I had no intention of quitting, and I'm still a bit mystified how it happened...lollove to hear your story and glad it happened
I follow the same story line - smoked hard and heavy about 45 yrs, started vapin' and never smoked again
just qwit ! I still look back and can't believe it, cigarettes were my friend, like cutting off a few fingers if I qwit...

I stop in at least once per week now. The first few weeks it was several times just to talk and explore things. I still buy some juice from them, and I bought another iStick Basic as a backup a week into it. They mix their own juices, and everything I've tried is delicious. I decided I wanted a smoothie type flavor and asked for strawberry, banana and orange, and she mixed it for me. It's one of my favorites still. What a marvelous story and equally lovely experience, Mike! She's one in a million thousand, and I applaud her for helping a new vaper with such kindness and wisdom!!!! If you see her again, please let her know that we appreciate her very much!!
