I, too, was quite timid with respect to Mech Mods. I am "knowingly cautious" when I use them. I make sure that my atty has a good reading (i.e. not so low that it will overdraw the capabilities of my batteries) I typically use a +1 ohm coil on a mech. I will deploy the locking ring (keeps the switch from engaging) when I set it down (although, two of my mods do not have locking rings - they are in the "extreme emergency - use with great caution" stash.)
I don't carry a mech out and about - they are home-use devices for me. And, if treated well, should last me a VERY long time.
I'm comfortable with Ohm's and Watt's Laws. I have meters to check the battery levels and coils before use. All my batteries in current use are on the order of AWs, Sammy R25s, or LG HG2s.
A "module" which "regulates" the current draw while installed in a mech. They're either VV or VW and are positioned between the top of the battery and the topcap where the atty lives. It's the step between a plain mech and a regulated device.
Thanks for the info, guys. Would be hard to go wrong with a $1.99 mod even if I just stashed it and forgot about it until needed. And, I always use/build coils as close to 1.5 as possible.

When you are ready for it, you will have it. At that price-- if there are any left-- no reason not to.
lol...you guys just about wiped em out. They do have a brass one left, which is fine with me. Are the others any good, the Magneto and Panzer clones?
That Nemmy might be gone by the time you get an answer. Either add to the order or don't. At that price, the others might please you, or you can PIF them.
I've heard good things about the Panzer, for sure. I think the Magneto as well. I'm pretty "new" to mechs myself. My first was a Galileo Telescoping mod. Truthfully, I'm not all that jazzed about telescoping mods - I even PIF'd a Zmax V3 because I disliked the "wobble". With the Nemesis mods, I have the assorted tubes, so I can run with all three battery sizes (18350, 18490/500, 18650) and with the extra kick tube, I can add the kick module to any of the batteries. (Usually, the kick adds a battery size - so when you kick a '350, it's about the size of a '500.)

)Thanks again, folks. Went ahead and ordered one Nemesis (brass) and one Panzer (stainless). Shipping cost more than the two mods combined. Still got two mods for $13 including shipping.

Here is my Nemi. If you use mechanical mods or have any urge to do so this is a good one to have. It is the most cloned device ever that I know of. China just flooded the market with knock offs of these a few years ago.

Nothing to be skeered of with a mech! Love me some mech goodness! Just don't get stupid and try to build a super low ohm build on it with a crappy battery, and you are going to be fine! 1.5 builds, I don't think there's an 18650 you can blow up! I don't use a "kick", but I know my batteries and I stay well within the operating range of them, easy! I always try to allow 20% safe margin, say the battery can do 20 amps, I'll push it max at 17 amps. Download an ohms calculator for your phone or computer, but I doubt you will ever push anything hard enough to need it.

I'm wanting small, doesn't leak, decent capacity, decent price and looks decent on the Pico. Following you on the Pico thread I was looking at the Goblin Mini, there's one in the classifieds, but it seems like a leaker. The Moonshot, seems like it's a lung hitter. Same with the Bachelor nano. I looked into the KF V3 mini, but there isn't anything mini about it!
Which leads back to the GEM clone. TC can come and go, not an issue for me one way or the other.
So please, I welcome your input!

I have two of these "kicks" they are clones of the Evolv Kick. Very cheap and work very well I use one of them every day and have one for back up.

I was just going to get some more 1.8ohm flangless carto's. Its not the end of the world I have 4 box's coming but I would buy more if its possible.
