Also take out your kick and see if it fires unkicked.

I forgot about the kick. Make sure the kick contacts are clean and again maybe a fine sand (extremely light sand) and that the kick fires in other tubes. I have always used nipple batteries with the kicks. Better cleaner contact. Also the kick relies on clean contact with the side of the tube so make sure you clean the inside of the tube. If it's anodised you need to scrape / sand off the internal anodising.

The other thing is to be consistent with the order you attach everything

I always put the tank on before I add the batteries.

My problem solving routine goes like this.

Make sure tanks fire on other devices and the bottom pins are clean. (No shorts and resistance is ok and stable).
Find something else that fires on the mod.
Clean everything including maybe an eraser or superfine sand of the contacts.
Clean and carbon grease all the threads on the mod.
Adjust all pins
Try different tube sizes and batteries.

It has to be something annoyingly small. I do find my mechs dont perform as well with tanks that have floating pins and I generally use a dripper base for testing

Also take out your kick and see if it fires unkicked.

Thanks, Ladies :)

Krisma, it does fire on other mods. I'd adjusted the "floating pin" on the STM base. 3mg, no kick at this time. I'll have to find an eraser  As long as I have a couple of devices that will work, I'll be o.k. I was just excited that the copper pins had arrived. :w00t:

Also make sure the atty your trying to use does not have a spring loaded 510. Your contact pin will push the atty 510 and touch the neg with it. With the kick it will read it as a short.

I can't remember if this is an original STM base or one of my replacement bases..... Prolly one of the replacement ones. I'm going to break out a PT2 and a STN to give them a try. I'm guessing it's a pin issue. I'll just have to dial in on what toppers will be sufficient :)

Just think of it as educational frustration. Once you figure it out..the lesson learned will stay with you forever :p
I guess if the kind of topper is the variable, not my ballpark, since all I have is KF's and Orchids. I do find that with the mix of FT clones and EhPro's, I am adjusting the topcap contact more frequently.

Thanks for the heads up on a possible postal strike!
If it happens it should be interesting,I get all my bills via Canada Post :)
(I'm one of those who refuses to go to e-billing)
I refuse to autopay anything. I get my paperbills, but pay online.

Out of curiosity I have a question for Kayfun coil rollers...
How do you mount your coil,at a 45 degree angle or straight acoss the air hole? Why do you mount the coil the way you do?

I normally do mine straight across. This morning for a switch I made a coil and mounted it at 45 degrees.
Other than it was a bit harder to mount It's a bit early for me to notice if there's a difference yet.

Thanks!
I mount mine straight across so the wick falls straight to the deck right in front of the juice holes & stays there.

I've been doing that on the last few builds just to ease wicking, but I don't notice a difference in anything else doing it any other way.

As long as the coil is centered over the air intake, it's fine.

Question,
I will be unable to vape for about 2 weeks due to being in the hospital then rehab, do I need to empty all my pt2's of juice or will they be okay. This is a good type of hospitalization, one that will improve my QOL!
I will have to resort to the patch during my stay, but I am cool with that.
I just want to make sure my tanks and coils will be good when I get out.
All my mods are taken care of.
BTW I use silica coils

Sorry to hear of your situation but on the other hand you say it will improve your QOL so that's a good thing.!
I don't believe you'll have a problem although there could be some leakage from pressure. If they're close to empty I would dump them. Just my opinion of course.
Get well soon!!!

Hope the results are everything you're hoping for! :thumb:

I typically have 8 - 10 toppers and mods going all the time, some have liquid in them for longer than the two weeks you're facing, and I've never had any issues... if they don't leak in use, they probably won't leak in dis-use. Have one PT2 with a palate clearing mint (not a huge fan of that flavor profile, but... ;) ) that's been holding juice for a couple months now.

But peace of mind is important! Do what you are comfortable with. Either vape 'em dry, or just put them upside down in a shot glass. Or not

I've tried all ways and honestly, didn't notice a difference either way. So anymore, I just stick the thing in the way IT wants to go in and don't fight it anymore!

Uh, sort of in between?

Usually closer to straighter across, but not real picky. Don't notice any difference, other than a very slightly lower resistance if at 45, due to very slightly shorter leg length.

Depends on how/what you wick it with. Biggest advantage to angled coil is seen by those that still use silica or ceramic wick, gives more room to place the silica, some also prefer leaving the cotton tails longer and making a sort of "S" wick. Personally I've always pretty much just used the cross pattern.

I mount mine straight across so the wick falls straight to the deck right in front of the juice holes & stays there.

Thanks for the replies.
Well I've been vaping my diagonally mounted coil for a whole day now and I haven't noticed any difference than with a straight across coil.So next time I roll one I'll be doing it the straight across way as it just seems easier.

I think I'd agree with Retired1. I'd at least want to ensure they wouldn't leak while you are away from them.

Praying a speedy recovery for you :)

They are calling for snow this weekend.

Ahh...Yup,this Sunday they're calling for the possibility of flurries here too.
DRAT...I have 30 tomato seedlings waiting to be transplanted into 4 inch pots before they get the final transplant into the veggie garden. As of now they're getting a tad too big for the Jiffy pots they're in.

This sure has been one really odd spring!
