Jeez, y'all have been chattin' up a storm...I'm trying to catch up!

My dear friend of over 30 years had a stroke last week so I've been a wee bit busy trying to help out where needed (and worrying when I'm not helping out). It's awfully difficult to see someone who's always the person helping everyone and anyone who needs it, have the tables turned and suddenly need help of his own. He's only 53 for crying out loud, with the soul of an angel. Thankfully it could have been much worse. His speech is slow and slightly slurred and his right arm and leg are very weak. But we are grateful he is a fighter and hopeful he will improve.

I'll be popping in daily and quietly hanging in the background.

Hug the ones you love.

So sorry to hear JK. Let's all pray for a speedy and complete recovery! :nun:

Please do. Every one needs like 17 hugs per day. It said so on the Internet.

Well because everyone knows that everything on the Internet is true! Like eating WD40!!!

I'm sure some of you have seen this mess. Forgive me if its already posted.

A little denigrating to our "culture" but kinda humorous, as well. We really can be our own worst enemy...

I heard off Papillon61, aka pap, she is fine and is still vaping. She decided the forum was taking to much of her time up and costing to much. Just so happy she is doing OK, yay..
That is great to see. I miss her oodles!!!!

I know she was loved by many here and just to see her Avatar again made me smile but then I miss her more now, it was a bitter sweet moment for me.

Oh dear! I'm sorry that your friend is having this struggle. My mother had a stroke about 10 years ago. She was 73, & had been on BP meds for years. And refusing to take them for years. She would only take the ones that she liked. There was one that she said made her sleepy so she only took it when she "felt" like her bp was high. She refused to take her bp unless she "felt" like it was too high. Because all the meds work together her bp was never anywhere close to normal or under control. So, one day it got too high & she had a stroke. She went to a rehab for physical therapy & was recovering her speech, & getting the strength back in her right side. Walking well without a walker or even a cane. They had her doing little exercises that were so simple but work amazingly to retrain her brain. They told her to practice her handwriting & her brain would retrain itself for that also. She went home & refused to do any of it. So instead of taking 10 minutes a day & getting progressively better & maintaining the program she began slowly losing it all again. Now she can barely get around & her speech is slurred. She's done all of this to herself from start to finish. What I'm trying to say is that it sounds like your friend is in a similar condition. He can probably recover most of what was effected, but it will take effort. And not huge effort, either. The exercises seem so stupid simple that yhey couldn't possibly accomplish anything. But they do. I had to do them after a devistating illness when I was hospitalized for a month h was so weak I couldn't walk. These same exercises are what I had to do & theu work. Be encouraged. Don't baby him. He needs to move around & do as much for himself as possible & then work on the things that are hard until they become easy again! He can do it!

Oh Kenna, thank you for this encouraging post!!! My friend *hates* to be babied so there is little chance of that happening :) I have faith his determination will increase his chances for improvement.

Thank you so much.

That is fantastic. Attitude is 90% of the battle. But I can't stress enough how important & effective those 'silly' little exercises are. I have severe rheumatoid arthritis & absolutely refuse to give in to it. When the other thing happened & made me so sick in addition to the RA it made me so angry & just made me work that much harder on all of it.

They lost a lot of online customers by changing that whole age verification crap... I haven't even tried since..

Strange. I've ordered my Hangsen juices and various hardware for years from Madvapes. I just placed an order Saturday and got a transaction notice quickly. I usually get a shipping notice within a couple of days, but Memorial Day apparently slowed things down. Madvapes is a slow site that sometimes gives me script errors. Newegg is another.

You'd think that we could just stop by a bank branch and verify our age so that a code would be transmitted with the card verification. The card could reflect that with some kind of approval code. I've had the same checking account for over 40 years, but how do they know it's me that placed the order? How do they ever know that it's me? It gets shipped to my card address, but it could be another family member. Dang FDA meddlers.

Ultimately, the message was positive, but she left a impression that vapers are all wannabe biker types who fill the room with smoke machine style vapor. It's not representative of the vapers I know.

It all kind of makes you think that once the vapor controversy clears we will be left with nothing but products like Blu and Vuse. That's kind of like going back to the Joye 510, except you have to buy prefilled carts.

I didn't know Papillon61, but wish her well. It's a drag to get to a point where health problems begin to creep in. You know that one day aging will take some vitality away and no one is immune to it.

Stick with the doctors orders Papillon61 and get well!

I did as-well until they stopped making the Hangsen juice I liked. I just remember when they changed the Verification system a lot of ECF users were posting to Madvapes because it was taking months to finish their order so idk a good bit said they were no longer ordering there.
I honestly don't know if it works for me as I haven't had a reason to order anything from them since all that went down.
I usually get a deal through a local Madvapes Manager if theres something I really want but thats rare lol.

I like Hangsen Tobacco and USA. MAdvapes only has a half dozen flavors in the Hangsen line.

If you like Dekang, then try E Liquid Market in Birmingham, AL. They ship quickly and the prices are in line with Madvapes for 50ml bottles. They have a sampler pack with 5 10ml bottles for about $13. It's a good way to try the flavors. You get to pick the flavor for each bottle when you order. So far, I've only tried Watermelon and Chocolate from the sampler I ordered, but they were excellent. Dekang an Hangsen are such clean juices. There's no strange undertaste. They are just simple and uncluttered juices that tastes good.
