That doesnt tell me what you are putting in your juice....Cotton candy (EM) is really going to gunk things up

I often have a problem with lack of specificity. Sorry about that. It's 50/50 juice and the vanilla cotton candy has FW cotton candy and TFA vanilla bean ice cream
The butterscotch has all sorts of ingredients

Well do you add any sweeteners? Cotton Candy is often just EM (ethyl malto) which is also used as a sweetener and also is a major culprit in gunking up coils.

No added sweeteners. I don't know if FW cc is EM.

So I'm reading that people are getting all sorts of mileage off of their rayon -wicked coils. I have to change mine once a week (usually the whole coil and wick). What gives? Is it my sweet juice wreaking havoc? Does anyone have any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Sweet juices do gunk up coils worse.

I have to rewick about every 10 days but Dry burn my coil and get 10-12 weeks out of a coil.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but are custards known gunkers?

I did the same thing...didn't notice much difference from my drug store cotton balls. Not the most expensive "useless" thing I've bought vaping. Lol

Usually, the darker type of ejuice are the coils gunkers because of the sweet stuff(but not always). Dessert types, creams, some vanilla's, custards, tobacco, etc tend to do that more quickly. The see through (clear)type of ejuices are usually the fruits, gums, drinks and coils and wicks seem to like them more. And yes, em, cotton candy, sweeteners, are the biggest guilty ones.

I've come to the realization that if I want the sweet and custardy stuff (which I adore and don't want to stop using), I will have to do WAY more coil maintenance and changing.

But what's the bother. You're getting good at building..

You could reduce tge % of flavoring for longer coil life.

Or find a way to keep the flavor and lower the gunkers... not hard to do, i followed recipes that called for so much sweetener it gunked things up too fast dropped sweeteners down and the flavor was more pronounced and tasted better.... YMMV BUT you should definitely experiment in reducing the gunkers down a bit to see what you can make taste good and the same without the issues.
