How else are you to get off the gunk?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A) never get ANY coil too hot, B) i like to blow on my coil as i "dry burn" to blow off any debris and allow the gunk itslef to burn rather than the coil (kinda like billows with embers) C) i use a q-tip inside and out on my coils to get remaining residue and dry/cool fire my coils some more til the q-tips come out clean. Of course this works better because i have larger than average ID coils (4mm)

Sometimes when I dry burn the coil gets white-ish and looks crusty afterwards so I toss it.

Just brush it gently with a old toothbrush or similar. Re-rinse if needed.

Um, some pretty large ID coils, that! :)

You can use the mandrel you wound on (i.e. screwdriver, rod) to clean the inside of the coil.

Why Ni200 if i may ask why not SS316L or 430?

I figured that Evolv originally did TC on Ni, so maybe TC on it works a little better than SS. Ni200 also is a single metal (something like 99.5% pure) and has no aluminum or chromium in it. Seemed like a good choice, but who knows.

Dunno. I've read that you shouldn't get the coils glowing bright red because it can cause oxides and crap on the wire.

Took many MANY coils before settling on this size it was by far not a leap or jump, like i said i started out on single coils with 34 gauge wire and slowly found what was best for me, any larger would be too much any smaller doesnt keep up with my vape style this allows the wick to hold enough juice also :D not to mention produce dense enough vape to satisfy me.

Muck up?

Easier to "tangle?" its way softer but i suppose on smaller id coils it would be harder to muck up, also that when trying to clean extra care is needed to prevent metal from being released

Definitely softer and less springy than K A1. 2.5mm core for the CLR coil... 1st try using the Coilmaster jig, I wrapped the wire over its self. Basically wrapped it by hand on the next attempt and it came out good.

Not sure what I'm going to do when rewicking/cleaning time comes... maybe just wrap a new coil.

@VapeLuvr
Your still a young vaper and sooner or later your going to get tired of the sweetness of many juices, commercial or DIY. Get tired of rebuilding/rewicking so often and find ways to spend your time elsewhere other than sitting rebuilding. Don't get me wrong...vaping is great and I love it, it changed my life but its novelty has worn off. Sweeteners and the amounts in the juices have had such a negative impact on my body it took me 2 years to realize that I don't have to be parched 24/7. I gave up the commercial juices when I began DIY, use 0 sweeteners whether its cotton candy, marshmallow or a sweet concentrate.
This is my point of view of how I perceived my vape journey, others might be the same who knows. Its how you want to vape so do to it as you please.
