I had that happen to my replacement base for my Merlin, one of the set screws was in the post so tight (from the factory) that it couldn't be budged, and since it was a Allen head I didn't want to strip out the Allen wrench either, so it's still in there tight as can be and of absolutely no use to me whatsoever. I hate when they have Gorilla's assemble my vape gear.

Had the same problem on a Griffin. If you haven't already stripped the Allen screws the Wiha driver will take them out. The Allen wrenches that come with atomizers are generally junk.

guys i need help. this may be a little long

I've been using uwell crown off and on with pretty good success. although after 4 years or so of vaping i'm still smoking. I have and have had tons of tanks. the problem with the uwell, is sometimes it's just not doing it for me. Like in the morning when i usually chain smoke, and like when i'm stressed... those moments when i smoke the most.

i use to happily vape smok single coil carto's. i was even off cigarettes for 3 weeks, before they just dissapeared from the vape scene, and most eliquid went to high vg (not good for carto's anyway)

so now I've been trying all sorts of mtl tanks.

I have the kabuki, nauti mini, sophia, dripper pro, cerotank, digiflavor siren, innokin T18 and T22, iclear 30s, that little eggroll tank that i think i need instructions for! and a few cisco atties including the hh 357. most of my coils are between .9 ohms and 2.0 ohms.

holy geezus batman on fire i can't get any of these tanks to work good for me for any period of time. maybe a week. i think oh yes, i'm on fire baby, and then it all falls apart.

I've been trying to pull vapor into my mouth then inhale, and on the inhale i get uck taste. or no taste.
so i tried to follow that ohms law chart. I don't think it works. I'm wondering....

am i vaping high enough wattage to heat the juice right.
am i inhaling incorrectly?

every once in a while i get a good flavor, i've been testing the theory out today.... and it seems if i take long hard pulls on a tight airflow, and inhale directly into my lungs, i get real good flavor. But isn't that wrong? aren't i missing the nicotine by doing that? and also a direct lung hit leaves me coughing, but the coughing really isn't bad. not nearly as bad as when i mtl. when i mtl, i gag and cough, and that is the worse. and that's when i really want a cigarette.

i get a little upset reading about how all these tanks work for every one else. and i'm sitting here years later asking wthell! how? am i using the wrong vg/pg ratio for these tanks maybe?

i don't know. some one give me some feedback on this.

You aren't trying. .... LOL

I had all mine in one container but had an organisation bug bite so I sorted them into acrylic, metal or other by color and size. Now I have 8 containers full of drip tips :(

None of them are used anymore because we made another 100 to make sure i had the right colour.

Oh wow i feel for you. I wish you could meet with one of us face to face. It sounds as though its a bit of technique and its much easier to see in RL. You can still get cartos but that doesn't help. Can i suggest that you pick one tank out of that pile and work through how it works, how to make it work for you and what you need to know to make it work at its best. That could be eliquid, or technique.

I'm so sorry you're having so much trouble. Many of the regulars here are probably at work during the day but I'm sure you'll get lots of help soon.

In the meantime please post how much nic you're using and how much V/W. these values might help you get a better answer.

Hang in there.

Hiya Kali. I have eggrolls (V1) and Nauti Mini and a Crown. What nic level are you using and what PG/VG ratio? I know with the Nauti Mini, it is better to be with a bit higher PG, but I prefer a bit more airflow, so even on the biggest airflow hole, it's sometimes not enough for me. I mix my own juice, and I typically go Max VG - But with the newer Nauti/Triton Mini coils, the wick holes are sufficient. I use the CLR coils for the eggrolls, and have no issue with Max VG liquids.

You also don't mention device and power setting. So, what happens after a week? Does it taste burnt? Have you changed coils? Lots of things to consider. Cartos could be tough, but they're probably the closest to a "real cigarette" sensation. Help us understand a bit more, and perhaps we can provide a bit more guidance.....

I don't have those tanks, but sometimes I need something different for stressful times and will either hit my Pico with the DL Melo III mini and the normal 6mg juice, or take out one of my Blu 2.4's.

i use to happily vape smok single coil carto's. i was even off cigarettes for 3 weeks, before they just dissapeared from the vape scene, and most eliquid went to high vg (not good for carto's anyway)

If you had a high VG that you liked, can you get it in a higher nic and then cut it with PG to bring it back down to your prefered nic?

so now I've been trying all sorts of mtl tanks.

For MTL, I think you want lower watts, higher ohm coils. We joke about sub-watting, but that's kind of what works for me.

am i inhaling incorrectly?

I don't think there are rules and vape police, so you need to find your own happy place. For me, a slow, steady pull into my mouth, followed by the inhale and drawing the residual vapor out of the atty works best. I prefer a cool vape.

every once in a while i get a good flavor, i've been testing the theory out today.... and it seems if i take long hard pulls on a tight airflow, and inhale directly into my lungs, i get real good flavor. I answered in italics within your quote, but wanted to add that they still haven't found the perfect OSFA tank and equipment. My favorite things are :-x?!?!?!? as far as other vapers are concerned. You should get all of the nic in the juice, it's just going to feel different with different set ups.

My favorite set is a 6mg juice, Nautilus X tank with 1.8 coil, on a Provari (any of them) running 5-6 watts. The juices I prefer are higher VG, but they don't have a lot of stuff that gums up the coils and wicks. If I need the Pico/Melo III I prefer 22W on a .5 coil. I don't do the TC.

Throw away the silly chart.
Vape to your taste (what tastes best to you) not a number on a chart.

Nautilus BVC heads - BDC heads are horrible.
1st, thoroughly prime a new / unused head similar to how you would a prepare a carto.
Drip drops of liquid on top of screen & allow time to soak in, keep doing this until wicking material is saturated, you'll see some seep out of wicking holes in head body.

2nd, install head into base tight, tight as in using thumb & index finger not pliers, fill tank, thread tank & base together snug, snug enough to prevent seepage / leaks from base to tank seal.
Don't crank down on it to smash tank in contact / flush with base, over tightening causes wicking problems. As the tank ages & the base seal relaxes you'll be able to tighten further.

3rd, let it sit a few minutes, take a few un powered primer puffs on the smallest airflow setting or hold your finger over the air inlet hole.

4th, adjust airflow to your liking, no right or wrong.

5th, set power level on power device around 7.5w - 8.5w or 3.7v - 3.9v if your using a vv only device.
Take a few vapes, adjust power up or down, increase / decrease airflow to find what you like best.
I stay under 10w with a 1.8Ω BVC head for at least the first half tank to allow the head to 'break in' & ensure it is wicking sufficiently without scorching or burning the wicking material.

Bottom line, everything in vaping is a matter of personal preferences, always start a new unused head/coil/wick/delivery device off at a lower power & slowly increase until you find your own personal sweet spot.

They have the lg in stock.

The LG I was looking at before was the HG2 button top at Illum Supply. which is out of stock. The HG2 on the RTD site has a picture of a flat top. Seems to be out of stock as well.

This is one thing that drives me crazy. A page full of pictures of batteries. A few of them say flat top or button top but many of them don't, you have to try to figure it out from a picture. Even if you click on a battery you still can't tell because they don't even mention it in the description.

That's one reason I always go with Illum Supply. It's in the description.

the next time i buy juice i'm gonna try different levels of vg/pg. ahlusion offers some variety.

all my juices right now are high vg. 70 and 80. i guess i'll search around and see if any of these tanks are good with high vg and pick one of those. and my mom (who i got vaping btw) suggested in some different drip tips.

thanks. right now I'm vaping aroma ejuuice 80 vg 12 or 6 nic.
I also vape two others that are 70 vg 6 nic.
I have alice in vapeland max vg whatever that means.

I had been using the nautilus and kabuki 1.8 ohms at 10 watts, i just bumped them up to 13 watts and i think it's hitting better. I'm not gagging now that i've bumped it up a bit.

I'm lost about what to vape my .9 ohm tanks at, i have the eggroll (joyetech clr i think) and my digiflavors are .9
i don't think i vape those very high usually 2.9 volts because that is the whole ohms law i was trying to follow. the problem with the eggroll tank is that stock coils pop big time. enough to make your heart skip a beat. so maybe i have the setting to high.

the innokin prism tanks i have been trying around 12 watts. 14 makes the drip tip super hot for me. and i'm getting lack of flavor on those.
