We get hummingbirds naturally in Tucson... We also get what look like giant wasps that travel at about the same rate of speed so it's a little hard for me to tell if I should be delighted, or appalled whenever I catch sight of one, at first. Those wasp things are... I don't even know if they sting, but they sure look like it. My husband said he saw one eating a tarantula once, so I'm assuming they do, and I'm glad I'm fairly unobservant sometimes, I hardly ever catch sight of that kind of.... well, animal kingdom adventures.

THANK GOD.
But, my husband killed the packrat! Loitering around with the pellet rifle wasn't working, so he baited a rat-trap with peanut butter and there it was, looking dead. I hope its last coherent thought was, "This tastes so much better than jolly ranchers," and I'm also glad I wasn't up first, since one of my new recent get up things is to take out the garbage (super senses, I both love and hate you,

,) I was glad the husband was up first, he looked at me, barefoot (I know, I know) and said, "Watch out for the packrat!"
RIP packrat, I will miss it chewing on the house in the dead of night. I asked the husband if he'd bury it next to our dog, but he said, "No, YOU can bury it next to the dog if you so desire...." He re-baited the trap, so if there isn't a family of them, I'm going to have to put my slippers on in the mornings now, I don't want to step on a rattrap while waking up....
