I thought I would post a brief review of my experience with the Tornado from Totally Wicked.

Three weeks ago, I received my order of a Tornado Red kit, a spare Platinum battery, and some low-resistance atomizers.

The combo of long-lasting battery and lo-res atomizer was great! For about one week... The batteries (all three of them) started to fail during the second week I used them. Even fresh off the charger, they no longer delivered vapor on a par with my old 510 batteries. Now, two of them are completely dead and the third is barely usable. The LEDs still light up, but no vapor is delivered. Meanwhile, three of the lo-res atomizers have gone belly-up already.

Meanwhile, my faithful old 510 and ordinary atomizers (from Eastmall) are still truckin' after many months...

Maybe I just got unlucky with the Tornado. But it does indicate they are still having quality control issues.

Has anyone else had a Tornado battery fail on them? Or are yours still working fine? It would be interesting to get some more data points here.

Are you sure it's not your attys that are going bad? I know I've read the LR attys don't last near as long as the regular attys... just seems really odd alll three batts would be bad that quickly. Ive had my platinum tornado for over a month and both batts are fine, but the attys are bout dead. Try your attys on your regular 510 batt and see how that works.

There are a number of other threads already in existence on this subject. And, I've responded to at least one of the others. Here we go again ...

One of the two batteries which came with my kit was DOA. TW asked me to return the battery, at my expense. They said they'd make up for my shipping costs by including some perks with the replacement battery. To me, that was a good response and a perfectly acceptable make good offer.

I would always contact any vendor with a problem to see what make good offer they would give, before making a public complaint. ANY manufactured item can be defective. It is the vendor's response to the problem which makes the difference.

As others have said, check your atomizers on another battery. Or, try a brand new one on the batteries in question. Then, if necessary, contact TW, and give them a chance to respond.

i've been using my eGo for a month now with no problems. i've never ordered anything from TW but hopefully they'll be able to help you out.

my 510 attys i got from cignot are still going strong after heavy vaping for 2 months, but my issue with LR attys is totally different. i got one to try out and it died on me after 2 days. i ordered 2 more and then 1 died on me after a day. since i've got a new pv on the way, i'm trying to save my last one for when it arrives, but i'm wary that it'll die on me soon too. i mean i know those attys don't last as long as regular ones, but i was hoping they would last longer than a couple of days.

it's a bit frustrating since using LR attys on the eGo is amazing and i haven't noticed any battery issues using them either.

good luck to you!

I ordered my Tornado back in Feb. It took a couple of weeks to receive, even tho they said I would have it in a few days. Right out of the box, only one battery worked. (To be fair, that one still works). One of the attys that came with my Tornado was also DOA. I immediately called TW and was told to send all back and they would ship a new one out once they received my return. After receiving premo service from other suppliers, this didn't make me happy. I never returned it because I was so happy to have my working one, I just didn't want to wait another couple of weeks to use it. I've since purchased the Ego from Cignot.com, knowing that if anything was bad (which all was good) I would receive excellent customer service.

Just my 2 cents though. :)

I have a Tornado kit from TW, plus an extra battery and a load of the mega atomisers and carts. I use the ZFM on the carts.

I've not had any issues with mine, nor has my friend at work (who uses the same kit) - but neither of us has had a sow resistance atty. Here's hoping it's just a bad batch, because I've always had prompt service from TW.

I'm 5 weeks into my Tornado, and both bats are fine. Both original atties are still fine as well, though I haven't used them since picking up LR atties from a different supplier.

I'm told that all the parts for the Tornado and Ego are made by Joye, so this isn't really an issue with TW's quality control. However, TW does offer a shorter warranty than their competitors.
