Override, I've not gotten any juice in my mouth and the tip does not get hot. It's pretty darn awesome that is for sure...just got mine on Saturday :)

Bigbuyer, I'm really liking the SS tip, it's pretty darn sweet, that is for sure!

Cool! This is something I will for sure see myself getting! Just hope I dont want to chew on it like I do the plastic tips...lol8-o

Thanks for the input Bella! ;)

okay, a little help here? I have my tornado on the way (maybe tomorrow) and I'm completely new to the 510 scene. Been using VKs with cartomizers. Needless to say, I've never dripped, or fooled around with attys and carts at all for that matter. I'm trying to learn what the T-Tip is and does, but there isn't much info on their site. Is it basically a mouthpiece that goes onto the atty (no filler) that allows you do drop juice directly down into it? I keep seeing something like 3 drops at a time when dripping? How long does that last before you have to do it again? Sorry for the newb questions, but I've spent 3 days searching and for the most part, I'm still lost.....

Also, I got an adaptor to use my v4l cartomizers on the tornado for when I'm out and about. Seems easier/longer lasting than dripping or carts, and I like to rotate 3 or 4 flavors. Am I on the right track???

Hi jazzguy,

I wouldn't worry too much about the whole "dripping" thing until you've gotten used to the feel of the 510 atty/cartridge. Give it a go for a bit. Do some reading and learn how to re-stuff your own carts as the filler material in the pre-filled cartridges won't last very long.

If you want to try "dripping", the T-tip isn't mandatory or even necessary.

It's a sweet looking stainless tip that eliminates the plastic cartridge. With the T-tip you can drip directly into it without having to remove the cartridge. The members who have them seem to love them.

You can learn to drip using an empty cartridge.

I was dripping sometimes using the standard 510 kit. I haven't bothered dripping with the Tornado yet because I'm getting decent life out of the cartridges I stuff on my own.

When I did drip with the 510, I'd put about 3 drops right into the atomizer and attach an empty cartridge. I'd get about 5 -6 decent draws.

The cone that attaches to the battery (over the atomizer) adds a step into the dripping process because you need to remove the cone to reach the atomizer. That alone makes the T-tip a very attractive add on to the Tornado/eGo for "drippers".

It sounds like you are on the right track. Congrats on your new Tornado and good luck! :)

Thanks for the fast response, Remie! That's very helpful! What you are saying confirms for me that dripping might be something I'll get into later when I'm at home at my desk, but it doesn't sound all that practical for being out on the go, and particularly driving! I ordered a few mega atomizers and mega carts in the hope that they will last a bit longer without having to futz with things. I'm looking into cart mods now, and the most promising seems to be blue foam, pyramid tea bags, or the spring auto drip method thing. I'll try them out. I'm just hoping I don't do something stupid and burn up too many atomizers in the learning process (cartomizers are so much cheaper!)

I'll look into the t tip for later if I do get into dripping sometimes, but at this point, I'm thinking I'd rather not have the hassle every 6-7 big vapes.

Do you mind telling me what method you are using for your carts? And what kind of longevity do you get from them? Are they standard or mega? For reference, if I take a clean blank cartomizer, I get about 25-30 drops in depending on viscosity, and grab 4 different flavors to go (rotating them periodically). At the end of the day, on average, I have drained two of them and they are ready to be refilled, so average of 2 cartos (or 50-60 drops) per day. What can I expect from the carts and mega carts?

Again, thank you very much. The best thing about vaping so far for me is meeting cool and very helpful people on here.

Hi jazzguy!

I totally agree about the "meeting cool people" part of this!

I haven't ventured into mega-atty or mega-cart land yet, so I can't tell you anything about those.

I use Fluval (water polishing pad) to stuff my carts. I found a quick and easy way that works good for me, so I've stuck with it for now.

I tried the mod with the pen-spring... I didn't find a huge benefit.

I was using the straw-mod for a bit, it worked and gave me a good idea on how much material to put in the carts, but when I tried this Fluval, I think I finally figured out the right amount to put in the cart and I don't find a big difference with or without the straw now. So, I gave it up - the simpler the better for me.

I might try the "Blue Foam" - people seem to really like it. I just wasn't able to find it when I went looking. The next time I think of it when I'm running around, if I see any I'll get some and give it a try.

I can get a good 12 -15 drops into my cart and I'm topping off a lot less now than I was with the standard 510. I have no idea why  but I'm getting a good -oh.. 12 or more draws before I'm topping off and I usually notice that if I push it until I actually lose taste or it starts to taste "dry and harsh" - the cartridge filler is pretty dry.

I always have an opened paper clip with me and after I refill or top-off, I just re-fluff the fluval, or push it to the side and get a couple of more drops in... poke the top a little and I'm good to go.

For on the go... you can fill as many carts as you want to carry around with you and just swap them out as needed. That is what I do when I'm out for the day or night, and especially driving.

I haven't been on the go with the Tornado yet (yay for long weekends) and I imagine that unscrewing the cone to swap carts while driving might not be the safest thing to do. When I take it out with me in the car, I'll make sure to start with a full cart, and spares and see what happens :)

I've never used cartos - but from what I've read, they hold more and last longer than the 510 carts. Since I started with the 510 I don't mind the fiddling or futzing with it at all. It just became part of my routine, and I rather enjoy experimenting with the cart mods.

As for total e-liquid usage, I'd say I use about 3ml a day ... sometimes more if it's been a "chain vape" day.

I think once you get going, you'll figure out a good routine. You'll have to let me know how you like the mega-atties and carts, I've been curious about them since I first read about them :)

Nice, thank you again for the detailed and thoughtful response - great information. I agree, the simpler the better - in fact, I'll probably give this a try immediately because of it's simplicity:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/70962-my-simple-cart-mod.html

Basically just a plug with the polyfill that comes with the carts.... Worth a shot, right?

I ordered my megas along with the Tornado, and it should be here very soon.. I'll certainly let you know how they compare with the standard ones :)

That is exactly what I do with the Fluval! yup - the only difference is I just drop the e-liquid right onto the filler. It seems to wick through all by itself just fine.

I just had a reallllly dumb newbie moment ... I just realized that I can pull the cart off the Tornado without removing the cone *banging head on keyboard* LOL

The cartridge snaps right off, and back on... without screwing off the cone.

Wow do I feel rather daft right now :)

Hey Jazz!! Must be something with Texans and Tornados, because I ordered one yesterday LOL. I also got a mega atty and carts to try out, albeit I plan to use the cartomizers on the Tornado. Hubby will probably get the mega stuff since all he will use is a 510. Unless the mega atty and carts surprise me. I just don't want to have to mess with it much.

Let us know after you get it and what you think of it all. And how long it took to get to you so I can know when to start stalking the mail person.

Happy Vaping!

I agree bigbuyer! The extra cone would really be a low-cost add on and 2 complete units would be nice :)

What color did you guys get? I went with the black, probably because I was so used to the black 510 stuff. I'm really thinking about the platinum now though, and I saw a youtube review that some dude did, and he had a white one. Surprisingly, I really liked the way the white one looked.

Thought I'd drop in a note here. I use the blue foam mod but instead of a paper clip or tweezers to pull it out with I use a seam ripper. It is small with a sharp point and has a plastic cover to put on it so it's easy to keep in my jeans pocket. You can find them in any sewing section at wally world, michael's, jo-anns etc. Give it a try and you'll see how easy it is.

hey, btw, I purchased a tornado battery since I'm going to be using 510 attys and carts with it, and figured all I need is that nice big battery to get me through the day since my friend bough the tornado and it fits perfection with the 510. Question is though, since i bought the adapter for the tornado to charge in the TITAN, isnt the titan just a nice name for a 510, and will the adapter they supply for the TITAN 510, work with a regular 510 charger ? I think it will but i just want to make sure. The TITAN TECC on TW, is really just a modified and proprietary 510. right?

I ordered just the tornado battery and cone in platinum to try it out since I already had 510 attys on hand. I got it today and charged it up. Wow am I a happy vaper. I got burnt out on the 510, constantly changing out batteries and it seems like when they are at half charge the vape sucked.

If I had to do it all over I would have bought the Tornado kit and bypassed the 510 kit, but there is just so much to learn as a newbie and well....

Once I get a little more moola on hand I will order another battery. I also will eventually buy the rapid charger.

The throat hit on this baby is amazing, there is more flavor and I love not having to hunt down a charged 510 battery multiple times. It is heavier but I don't mind and I love the little white light on the button. That button is sweet too.:D

Another happy volcano user here <3

Mine was in the mailbox waiting for me when I got home from work tonight, charged it up and it's wonderful! Such an upgrade from the Blu passthru system I was using. I'm not tied to the computer anymore! The Blu batteries were frustrating and didn't offer enough vape unless fresh off the charger. The volcano is still going strong with the partial charge it shipped with.

Now I just need to figure out what cart mod to use so that it drains properly and I'll be a happy camper.

I am trying the mega atty and cart with mine. Didn't like it at first. Very low vapor. Buy after a good cleaning, and break in period, It's doing GREAT!

What surprised me is just how long it will last with toping off. Way longer than a regular cart. And it doesn't' seem to burn as easily.

I went with the multi pack of bat's. It made the over all purchase a lot less expensive in the long run.:)

Got my Tornado today...Been chain vaping since I opened the box @ 4pm this afternoon...Straight out of the box with no charge 1st battery just died...6 hrs. 30 mins...solid vaping....I am impressed...Will give a full blown opinion after I test mutiple juices (PG/VG) and test full Charged batteries. So far this thing is living up to the billing. I am a long time 510 freak.
