I have to say in most of the forums I've belonged to, the mods word was pretty much final...period. The owner was pretty much nonexistent....and was never directly contacted (although I often suspected they were probably a
mod "in disguise".) In any event, people would get banned left and right...and posts deleted....and if you didn't like it...you left. That was pretty much how it was. And personally, I don't really know if I preferred that or not but it certainly did make for a very well run forum and overall enjoyable place to be.
We have tried to allow members to voice how
mod procedures made them feel but in each and every case...it has led to mod bashing...so that is no longer an option....not on the public forum anyway. SJ said he is willing to accept any complaints in that area, so that's where it goes.
You have to consider too that this forum went from very limited moderation...to me and E-pipeman....to now several others. Yes, an adjustment period can be expected...but we can't be expected to be questioned at every turn...and with every decision.
I think once everyone gets used to the new changes, things will settle down. Until then, we just do the best we can.
