I have to say in most of the forums I've belonged to, the mods word was pretty much final...period. The owner was pretty much nonexistent....and was never directly contacted (although I often suspected they were probably a mod "in disguise".) In any event, people would get banned left and right...and posts deleted....and if you didn't like it...you left. That was pretty much how it was. And personally, I don't really know if I preferred that or not but it certainly did make for a very well run forum and overall enjoyable place to be.

We have tried to allow members to voice how mod procedures made them feel but in each and every case...it has led to mod bashing...so that is no longer an option....not on the public forum anyway. SJ said he is willing to accept any complaints in that area, so that's where it goes.

You have to consider too that this forum went from very limited moderation...to me and E-pipeman....to now several others. Yes, an adjustment period can be expected...but we can't be expected to be questioned at every turn...and with every decision.

I think once everyone gets used to the new changes, things will settle down. Until then, we just do the best we can.

My apologies for any apple cart upsetting. ;-)

I have no clue about any of these products, blu or otherwise, i'm just starting out.

i'd love to try a product that has an affiliate program because i'd like to be able to use it on my weight loss blog, if it turns out that it's something that helps me quit smoking and not gain weight.

That being said, I've probably read enough about blu here that i am not going to bother with it. Any other products with affiliate programs out there?

Welcome again msfatty....sorry about all that .....it was all my fault for making a bit of a silly joke.:( .
I can't help you on who has an affiliate program though, perhaps you should make another post with something like ' looking to be an affiliate' or something in the title of the post.

Sorry Ms....this whole thing was nothing personal to you...just part of a transition going on in the forum right now.

I personally don't know anything about other suppliers with affiliates but you should feel free to go back and post again in the newbs forum. Someone may have answers for you there.

Thanks, and good luck in your venture!

Edit: posting same time as Pete :D

Yes, Jim is correct. Any ongoing discussions on the blu will be moved to the blu forum. Any threads mentioning the blu and affiliate opportunities will also be moved there. If the OP would like to post a new thread in the newb forum without mentioning the blu, she is more than welcome to.

Sorry, but we are still leery of blu affiliates posing as members here (not to say the OP is but right now, we are still being cautious).

And yes, there are probably other supporting suppliers with affiliate programs. One thing is....blu is not a supporting supplier at this time. SJ has allowed this forum for the blu users to be able to converse without a concern of it being spam. SJ is also taking steps to see if blu would be interested in advertising as a supplier here...whether free or paid....their choice, just like any other supplier.

Also, if members do become affiliates of a supplier here, they must identify themselves as such. We have already confirmed a couple of blu affiliates who were not listed as such....so again, we are just being cautious.

Hope this clears this up.

Again, the OP is welcome to start another thread in the newbs section under these conditions.

Hey LU...you said "Sorry, but we are still leery of blu affiliates posing as members here".....just to let you know....I'm assuming that SJ is the admin of this forum.....all of the blu ads on this website are affiliate ads....so I'm guessing since SJ is the admin of the site.... and all the ads on blu here are affiliate ads....that must make SJ a blu cigs affilate.

I highly doubt it since you stated on your own forum that SJ banned blu's IP address here. Why would he do that if he were an affiliate?

Maybe because he only wants them promoting their products if they pay for it? Just an idea. How much do you guys charge to give suppliers their own subforum? Why is Blu getting one for free? Surely SJ isn't so opposed to taking their money that he would block their ads too?

Sorry, no. SJ has lots of free suppliers here...and several suppliers just waiting to become sponsoring suppliers. I don't think he really needs blu's money.

$40/month

SJ just set something up for the blu buyers to be able to post on. It was either here...or another subforum had to be created for them. Anything more than that, I suppose you will have to ask him.

Surely SJ isn't so opposed to taking their money that he would block their ads too?

Honestly, I have no idea what ads you are talking about

There are/were banner ads on the forum. One of the banners in rotation was blu, with an aff code. It came up at least 50% of the time. I can't see the banners anymore. I'm not sure if it has to do with post count. *shrug*

Yeah, if you log out, guests see a metric ton of ads, a lot of which are for Blu. So it's obvious that he stands to gain a lot of money by giving them a free subforum and moving all their posts there for them, rather than banning them outright and having Blu pull all their ads which help pay the bills.

I never log out so I never view the front page. Are the ads still there? And according to Kev's site, their IP here is banned and they won't advertise here. Going by that and what SJ has said, I see no tie with blu financially supporting this forum in any way

I don't know....I can't speak for SJ...only he can answer that....all I do know is that every blu ad on this site....when you click on it....has an affiliate number.......so the ads are affiliate ads. Affiliate #576 comes up when you click on the blu ads on here.

So how do we find out who affiliate #576 is? I mean really, I wouldn't go as far as to suggest SJ is an affiliate until you had something more concrete.

Lu
All I know is that there are blu cigs ads on this website...when you click on them there is an affiliate number.....now I'm assuming...and I could be wrong....that SJ being the admin of the forum is in charge of putting ads up on the forum.....so either SJ is an affiliate.....or soemone else is an affliate and he's putting their blu ad up on his forum for them...again I don't know...that's something only SJ knows.

Well, this is better than what you originally said "that must make SJ a blu cigs affilate".....unless you have some viable proof we don't know about.
