totally new to vaping and about to give up

I'm using an iclear 16 clearomizer and I hate it. It only produces good flavor right before it gives off a nasty burnt taste. I only get through about a tank and a half before I have to replace the coils, no matter how slow I draw. The vapor is too hot and leaks all the time. I lose about half the juice every tank. The only reason I haven't switched back to cancer sticks is that I have no money.

Before I give up, I'm thinking about getting a kanger evod clearomizer. Any thoughts?? Also, what kind of juice should I get that doesn't burn and sting? Should I just get 0 nic and use patches? I like the way the juice taste in the store, but then I buy them and can't even use them cause I choke and cough till I throw up. HELP!!

Welcome to ECF! Don't quit trying vapeing. It's a much safer thing than those death sticks. I'm not too sure about the set up you have. But there is alot of informative people who will try to help you problem. You may need to give some more information on your set up and how you're using it. Wait 10 min and I bet someone will have some useful info/questions for you ;)

If it's in your budget, I would try a twist battery of some kind ( I prefer this one: 1300 Xtreme Ego Battery VV Twist | Mig Cigs ) with a Kanger Aerotank Mini ( Kanger Aerotank Mini ) and switch to a 12% nic all VG juice, makes a world of difference. I have never had my Mini leak and it puts out great flavor while being VERY easy to use.

Also if you're using a VV/VW battery check to make sure its not turned all that way up as that could also cause the burning taste you're having. As for flooding, make sure when you're filling your tank that you're avoiding getting fluid into the air tube. Also if it still floods try taking the tank off, wrapping the bottom in a paper towel and blow through the tip, this will clear out any excess fluid from the tube. But as Sentenced said, look into getting the Nautilus. You will go through tanks until you find the one that fits you the best. Don't give up and just continue to ask advice. It's well worth the headache!

EDIT: Also make sure you prime the wick before firing. It makes a world of difference!

Those iclear's are absolute ..... I had them on my very first set up. Sometimes I'd look at it wrong and the thing would crack and leak juice everywhere lol.

However then I found the Mini Protank 2. Every tank has it's pros and cons, but I think it'll solve your problems. As for the juice stinging, this could be a number of reasons. Nicotine content is to high, coils not vaporizing the juice completely, certain flavors are irritants for some people. But going on what you said it appears to be problem derived from the tank. Perhaps fix that first before venturing for another flavor.

Welcome jshorty1219. Don't give up, it's the best thing you can ever do to quit. I smoked 45 years and tried EVERY quit method over the years and they ALL failed except this! I found this Series 3 - V2 Cigs and it worked great. Easy to use and gives me a nice hit at 24mg. Strength depends on how much you are smoking. Also, I smoked menthols must of the time and the menthol juice gives me a real nice throat hit. If that doesn't look good please look around here for ideas and help for something that will work but don't give up! I've only been clean for 2 weeks and I can't even begin to tell you how much better I feel! No wheezing when trying to sleep, walking dogs every day, riding a bike without feeling like I'm gonna pass out. Hang in there! Good luck!

Welcome to the forum! I think there must be an assembly problem. Something is not right like something is loose, or missing, causing all your leaking problems. That hot, burning taste tells me that not enough juice is being wicked up to your coil. I have one and used to use it daily for a month, and it's still got the original coil. I suggest taking it completely apart, cleaning it and reassemble taking care to make sure all is tight, any o-rings in place, etc. Just keep trying. It's not worth it to smoke, not only for the money, but for your health.

Losing half the liquid is ridiculous, you must have a rogue clearomiser. You don't say what battery you're using but I assume it's an ego type, and there are just so many clearomisers available to suit at good prices, so don't give up. I recently bought some kanger-like BDC clearos on Amazon to use on my out and about ego batteries and they're most excellent. Persist, persist. You will find a setup to suit you, as long as you don't expect vaping to replicate the cigarette experience, it'll never do that but also won't damage you and your wallet so much.

My very first was the ego-t set up, but the tanks cracked. I got a kanger evod c battery a couple months ago and an iclear 16 due to budget restrictions. I heard a lot of good things about kangertech, so I'm looking to try that first before any of the more expensive models. What does VG stand for? I am currently using 12mg, of whatever Infinite Vapor sells. I started with 15, but that was really strong. I didn't even know there was different kinds of juice lol.

Best advice for you would be a mvp2 with a Aspire mini bvc tank that is as good as it gets without dong your own. That would be about 65 bucks from 101vapes and a very nice system.

Can't agree more. I think this would be a great setup for anyone but especially for a newbie.

I have no idea what is your set up, so my advice could be not really helpful.
I like iclear 16. It’s a workhorse, I use it on work or while travel. Easy to fill (top filed). Have not change a coil for more than a month (with menthol juice).
If vapor too hot it means you need to reduce voltage (if you can regulate it with your device) or use coils with higher resistance. You should not go below “half full tank” point to keep wicks saturated, otherwise you can have a burnt taste. Actually when I cannot refill it in time I can vape it until it is practically empty, but then I have to periodically tilt it to its side or turn it upside down to let wicks to soak in remaining liquid. As for leaking, I did not have it. Can only advice to check if you have both O-rings in place. One is on drip tip (mouthpiece), it could be lost when refilling a tank. Another one on the bottom, it could be lost when changing a coil.
I do not thing you’ll love your clear 16, but hope you can enjoy vaping while waiting for another tank.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin. Ejuice often has a mixture of Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin along with the nicotine and whatever flavorings are added. PG gives a stronger throat hit (that thump you feel to the back of your throat) and carries more flavor but some people, myself included, are sensitive to it. The VG makes nice fluffy dense vapor, while PG by itself makes very little vapor. Going with a juice made of 100% VG drastically reduces any throat hit and if you have a PG sensitivity like I do it's really the best way to go, IMHO.

I think I got a defective one, it's been leaking a ridiculous amount since I got it. I just got 4 new coils a week ago, and I'm on my last one. I have to change it every two days. I always make sure the wicks are saturated, I got a nice tutorial from the store where I bought my first set up.
