Was it something I said?
Ya'll might think differently of me, but I got mine out of a dumpster.

Funny how much luxury people throw away in our society, last night was a mix of 5 varieties of gourmet fingerlings, twice as much bacon wrapped fillet mignon as anyone could eat, locally grown organic lima beans, artisan rye bread, organic french butter and I had a perrier because it helps with the indigestion I get from so much steak. The only thing I paid for was the seasoning on the steaks, and only that because I like Cavender's greek seasoning on my steak better than the case of grinder bottles of steak seasoning I dumpstered last month, and with what I didn't spend on the rest of meal I figure I could splurge on a pennies worth of spices for each "$14" cut of beef.
<---- off to find bloog's dumpster!
(So, is there really no limit to how far off-topic I can drag a thread?)

We have them here, called Okinawa sweet potato. The skin is brown but inside it's purple. They pretty much taste like a sweet potato.

That's called Ube here. I've had Ube Jelly Beans and Ube ice cream. The candy version is sweet and kind of berryish tasting. I've been thinking of trying it out as a new falvor.

I've seen stories on you guys....shopping out of grocery store dumpsters and stuff. There was one woman with a big family who spent like $5 per week on groceries. Fascinating! More power to ya, I say!

I don't think it's right for a grocery store to toss something like bread just because it is a day old. That is still perfectly good and should be donated to a shelter. But meat or dairy can so easily be contaminated or spoiled, it just doesn't seem safe to rescue that stuff.

I agree, however the reality is that grocery stores are afraid of getting sued. Therefor most "day-old-food" gets pitched instead of donated.

By the way, I just wanted to share that one of my trades came with an addedd little bonus!

The Leaford baseball card!

Leaford.jpg

scan is small for some reason.. top says "Thanks for trading in the Bloog thread!"
Below the pic, in the frame, it says "I get all my skirts, pompoms and short friends in the bloog trading thread, I love it!"
Below that is the name, "Leaford, 'Legs' Bloog".
Below that, bottom right, "MANAGER".
Bottom left is a little baseball player and the number 6.

He sent me 3, so I'll pass one along to the next few people I trade with! :)
