Trolls...?

OK, call me paranoid but I just want to throw this out there...

Has anyone else noticed some unusual questions being asked on the forum lately? Don't get me wrong, this is an open space to ask questions and there is no such thing as a stupid question (despite what my geography teacher used to say!) but it has occurred to me that there have been more questions about non-smokers taking up vaping of late. Questions asking about whether or not vapers would encourage or discourage them, and non-smokers asking for advice.

Like I said, I may be paranoid but might there be a certain element of the 'Bigs' trying to find evidence to support negative arguments? I'll go put my tin foil hat back on now ;-) x

i don't necessarily think so ...i do think theres an uptick in new members because of new year's resolutions but those questions you are talking about always get asked over and over again...some newb will come in and ask them after vaping a few months...it's sort of natural to think about these things after you start

On an unrelated topic (except for the paranoid bit) that I've been meaning to post lately, I am totally paranoid in one regard about vaping. I have this absurd half-fear that the airbag in my car will malfunction and inflate while driving. Since the thought occurred to me, I have taken to vaping from the side of my mouth while driving.

I don't think ECF is as important as ECF staff and some of the users think it is. If somebody is trolling it's probably for their own amusement and not the paranoid realizations of those who spend too much time here.

Makes me glad I disconnected my cars air bags.... I hate those things.

Fortunately, as of this date, the troll posts here don't seem to be that bad... I've been a member of some forums that made me feel... dirty... for even being a member (and no, they're not porn forums, they're nerd forums, aka WoW and some sci fi forums). Talk about Troll Heaven in some of those places.

I don't think you're being paranoid. I've seen the same things and have thought the same. I'm unwilling to name names, because that's not the kinda place this is, but you're not alone in your suspicions.

I think I have noticed two like this, the first one (Needex-Smokers Veterans advice on 3 issues) I simply replied "consult your physician" the other thread I decided not to reply, but yes seems like they were wondering around trying to solicit advice in ways to prove something and throwing about numbers. I was suspicious as well..

I just remember a thread a couple of months ago about somebody who was doing an undergraduate project on vaping and using forums to gather material... it doesn't half make you suspicious... I think I'm extra paranoid because I'm all up on my research methods and COVERT RESEARCH IS WRONG, PEOPLE!

Also, I can't remember which of the Final Destination movies it was, but there's one where a woman has crashed her car and it's looking increasingly likely that the leaking fuel will set on fire...more and more likely...more and more likely...and then....well I can't say I know what happened because I hid my eyes at this point! Lol!x

I don't think you're overly paranoid, but then again, I think anyone who isn't a little paranoid is out to get me.

I suspect we're talking about the same person. I felt it prudent not to bother responding to their threads as I wasn't convinced they were interested in honest discourse.
