If I was still working I would not, could not, spend all the time I have screwing around with vape gear. Leaky tanks, bad coils, fake batteries, bad 510's, battery charger, battery cases, scales, bottles, recipes, flavors, cotton or rayon, coil jig, coil placement..... If I wanted a hobby I could b* about I sure found it. I intended to use vaping as a way to quit smoking. Never thought it would turn into a hobby I would go OCD on.

I'm hooked now...

But if I was working something like the JUUL probably would of done the trick. A bonus is I think it is manufactured in the U.S., hard to know for sure the way they word it. Pods are built to be disposable, I was thinking mods were an investment, but with the QC I see, they are also built to be disposable.

Even without shinyitis it can be a pain. A friend of mine got a small vape setup a year before me. He goes back to smoking. I can tell he doesn't want to even deal with finding coils, dealing with maintenance and that was with a LiPo mod. Pods here are not easy to find and even more expensive, mail is very painful and cigarettes $1 a pack.

I hope pods continue to improve, prices drop. Not everyone needs a hobby :)

NYC prices are up to $15 for the cheapies; $18 for Marlboros, Camels, Newports, etc. Jersey charges $7-9. Cigs in Costa Rica were $1.35/pack. I might not have quit at a buck & change a pack.

Well, Billy Boy DOES have to the A Train runnin', donchyaknow.

Yeah, I think they're between $6 - $7 in NH. Kind of shocked cigarettes were cheaper in Sacramento. All the money I'm not saving by quitting. I used to save about $500 a month. Because of my shinyitis I've actually spent more vaping than it cost me to smoke here. Of course I'm not including hospital and funeral expenses.

The A Train?!? The MTA is as FUBAR as I've ever seen... And I've been ridin' the trains since the late 80's.

ETA... I hope Mr. D doesn't get reelected.

Hopefully, you'll grow out of the shinyitis soon. I spent less than $100 total in 2017. I'll be pushing $150 this year with a new mod.

I'm no longer a MTL vaper, so I seriously doubt that I'd find a pod system that I'd like better than my current DTL subohm regulated mod setup.

However, I've occassionally considered having a pod mod for those times when I stealth vape, like when at the cinema. A couple of short toots with a low volume vapor and high nic juice would probably sustain me through the length of the movie.

I don't stealth vape enough to invest in a pod setup only for that purpose, so I doubt that I'll actually buy one. However, I'll gladly accept one for review if any vendors are listening. ;)
I think you'd do nicely with a Billet Box with some Nautilus coils. When my Ego AIO died, I needed a replacement. Pods don't do it for me. I need a full sized 18650 battery and some decent coils.
Another thing that might fill in your cravings is the Mi One. Not the pod, but the one that uses AIO coils. It's very small in the hand, 1000mAh, and top fill, so it beats most pods in their tracks. I vaped those with 16mg, so no need for salts.

I was the dope who bought up all the variations of KR808's, because I believed the lies that there was a difference between them. Took me a minute to realize the only things that were different were the stamped logos, and the endcaps. Other than one (Vaporsmiths, now defunct, regulated to 5v), I'm fairly certain they were all produced in the very same place. They all suck-ed, and I had wasted a bit of coin.

Mid December 2011, this video began a progression that, well, hasn't stopped quite yet.:blush:

It arrived just in time for New Year's Eve that year. I quickly realized it was just another 808, but the game was ON (unstoppable, as we all know now).

Then came Go-Go, which I still might be using today if they had been regulated. AWESOME little suckers.

<3 the Jan, and THANK YOU, Eric G. (DiscountVapers rocks)!

By mid 2012, Provari landed. Six years later, I still pick at least one up daily.

There are "a few" others too, methinks. Dayum, this has sure been a fun ride.:D:vapor:

I miss Jan. I built my first mod on several of her vids. Although I started on 901, I moved quickly to 808 since had better wicking. And yes, I was like you.
But my vape of choice back then was three 650mAh Ego Twists and a PCC. The PCC would hold 10 ml of juice, a Kanger T3, a 306 atty. And the whole packet would have me vaping for a full day and it was easy to carry. I miss those days.

May he get drunk, disoriented and lost, ending up in a photo shoot with a bad ...... in the bowels of Times Square Station.

 Ouch. Was THAT necessary, me?

Maybe... :2c:

BACK on topic!

So, you're not volunteering for his reelection campaign? :sneaky:

I love pineapple. It's my favorite fruit... but it doesn't belong on pizza. Our friends on the Left Coast might disagree, however. :pervy:

Juul is made in China. The sneaky packaging says it is "designed" in the USA instead of "made in". ;) I do like that their website lists all of the materials used.

Interesting points, especially since the OP is a collector, according to his tag line. I'm definitely not a collector. Personally, I see all vape stuff as somewhat disposable. Most of it is made cheap in China. Blu does give a lifetime warranty on their Myblu but most manufacturers aren't even confident enough to warranty for more than 3 months. In contrast a 1 year warranty is pretty standard on most other household appliances.

And anything electronic or plated is not going to last. Even if a mod does last, most folks are going to replace it with something new after a couple years. Tanks could be made to last forever but most are plated and that won't last. I'm especially disappointed that most companies describe them as "stainless steel", omitting any mention of the plating. Aspire misled customers about their Nautilus for many years--the chimney was brass with chrome plating. I don't trust that they aren't using brass or mild steel instead of stainless. Even if companies use stainless steel underneath the chrome, plating doesn't last. There are complaints about the chrome plating deteriorating on the Aspire Breeze 1-- not something that I want to inhale.

Not THIS friend. Pineapple belongs in a Mai Tai.

On la pizza? Just little flishies.
